Dr Who..

Admit to not being a fan but I did like the last chap, but its boring me at the minute and the Mrs who is a fan isn't impressed....

With you on this. I was watching but found myself losing interest - and I was very much looking forward to it as I like Peter Capaldi. In the end I recorded it and went and watched something else. I'll give it another go and watch it properly and see if it holds me better.

Was planning to watch it tonight. Will see how it goes but not holding out too much hope after the comments to date. I assume his assistant isn't dressed up like this then

Aah the wonders of Photoshop. Not as good as the one with Susanna Reid in underwear that used to go around, but still a good effort.

right with ya fish- It was all very uncomfortable as he acted like early dementia was setting in- Matt Smith was excellent and his transformation scene was done like a true time lord, Capaldi just isn't cutting the custard with me #seewhatIdid

I stopped watching it when the last fella took it on, what a useless waste of time he was. Peter Capaldi however..... I have it recorded. Apparently it got the highest viewing figures of ANY DR Who episode !

I bet the 2nd episode the figures drop dramatically, of course the 1st episode would be high, intrigue would get the better of most, even the part timers. This Peter bloke hasn't got any character, he might as well have had the script in his hand, it and he was boring!

The old days were the best!
Probably because I was young enough to have been the target audience back then.

I've watched quite a few episdoes since it came back to our screens but what I find annoying, and it seems to be getting worse and worse, is the number of running stories going on across episodes and series. Unless you've watched every episode, half the references go straight over your head.

Back then an episode (or series of four or so as it was then) would be about one set of monsters and no prior intelligence about past shows was required.

well it's the Daleks next week. They were scary when I was a kid and even then you 'glimpsed' the alien inside.

Now, they are so multicoloured like a Beneton advert and they can fly and hover- unfair. All you had to do to get away in the past was nip up a flight of stairs and lob rocks at them.
