Does anyone have one of these dongles for TV to plug into a laptop and are they any good?
I sometimes have gaps between lessons and as I always have my laptop with me, it would be handy
Thanks

do you have internet access then i presume Bob?

What are you wanting to watch? there is a vast array of free players out there, BBC Iplayer, ITV, 4OD, Sky Player..

Or just use this website http://www.tvcatchup.com/ which is basically freeview on demand..

There you go, i have saved you £20! where is my free Veasy?

I wish I could charge £20 every time I helped somebody on here ;)

No wifi at the range sadly
Will have to look at mobile phone dongles and the reception is pretty rubbish.
Guess I'll just forget it but thanks anyway

You can get pretty good deals on the 3G dongles for internet access... I would suggest looking at "three" whom often do unlimited data. If you are using mainly for video streaming, the usage will be high. I would say a decent contract dongle will be sub £20 a month...

Oh if the range have internet access, but not wifi, have a look at my post in out of bound re "survey help" reason for the survey is we are launching a rental system for wireless network access, all the site needs is an active internet connection, they then just rent the access point from me and we manage it... Sorry gone OT! ;-) good luck!!

Bob, what type of laptop do you have? I have a mini PCMCIA tv card with mini aerial that I could send you if it was any good? It's HP branded but you get the freeview channels on it.

Thanks for the offer Greig but I've gone off the idea now.
I'll just do some practice with both my wedges instead ;)
