Does anyone sneak out for a few holes on Christmas Day?

Yep and done it for the past few years . I am in the lucky position that my wife plays so we are up around 8-9am to play a quick 9 holes ;)

27th @ Castle Combe to blow the cobwebs off

Been to combe a number of times in my mini and rover 200diesel over the years, you going racing yourself or watching a race there ?

Never played golf on Christmas day but will hopefully play over the period sometime.

I'll be driving my Powakaddy round the golf course there but I doubt that'll be much of a race 😉

Haha think I jumped to the wrong conclusion DOH, have a good round :fore:

Yep I'll be out there. Wife and daughter are doing a stint helping the elderly (insert obvious self-gag here) so I have three hours to myself. In return, I do the Xmas dinner for when they get back. Awesome arrangement. Now could I get away with sneaking on to Walton Heath this year ....

Not on C. Day but Boxing Day is a tradition. 9 holes and onto the in laws afterwards. If I was single I would play, assuming the course was open, but as I want to stay married Boxing Day will do for me.

Far too busy with food, drink and nodding off! Will be playing every other day of my 13 day break though.

Havn't for a few years, used to when i was a member at Torvean and could just walk up and play a few holes while the wife did here phone calls.

Not worth it to travel to Nairn, esp as i've usually had way to much to drink on Christmas eve to drive the next day.... hic

Nope, course is closed and have no intention of breaking rules. In any case, I would be over the limit and have no desire to lose my licence and ability to work.

I've done it a few times. The course is closed but I tqke all my gear home & climb over the gate, it's only 3 feet high. I'm usually the only one on the course.

At our Club it is the one day of the year when the course is closed.

Several years ago two members followed your lead. Not such a good idea as they were seen and subsequently suspended for two months.

The drive is closed due to Rights of Way issues.
