Having only an "I do it too" vote and not an "I don't do it" one isn't going to give a great idea, but yes, I often see something in the distance, or walk down a narrow street and wonder what club I should take. ;)

With regards to the poll.....yes, I did seem to mess that up, I didn't really pay attention to that bit and so got confused (not hard for me). But it's great to know that so many of you do the same as me.

Bloody hell guys!! the good lady at home thinks I'm mad as it is, showing her this thread would only confirm it.

Yes, often see a piece of ground and think you could get a nice 3 holes of pitch and putt in there.
Haven't tried the house thing, but I live on a very steep hill, the house at the front looks like any normal semi with 2 floors, but at the back of the house we have another floor because of the slope, and with the slope continuing down the garden it would be a mighty hit to get it up and over.

As to how many shots to get to my course, well I live 15 miles away so about the same as I normally take to get around the course, loads more than I should, plus there's that dodgy dog leg near the M25

does anyone else walk down the street, see a tree or car or any random object ahead and wonder what club they'd use to hit it?

No, of course not! :p

It's an 8-iron to my mates back garden, a wedge to the bus stop and I reckon it's Driver/3-wood/5-iron to my sons school :o :o :o LOL

I cannot tell a lie, there is an increasing tendency of late to refer to distances by the club that I would use.
Referring to a simple query of 'how far is that' with 'oh, it's a soft 8-iron' can get you some very odd looks.

yip alot of the time, the g/f sometimes is not to happy with me chatting about.. and the odd time that i do play well i am dieing to tell her about it.. tho at this stage she tells me to shout up about golf and does not want to here anymore about it lol..

so then in that case i end up walking around the house phoning ringing anyone i know that likes golf to tell them about my round and shots lol..

Bit sad really.. tho i am hooked and even spend most of my days in work looking to see what opens are up and coming in my area, what clubs to buy next and of course on this web site reading about it. lol.

All your stories have inspired me to keep on playing mental golf as I walk the streets!
I have decided to even try and play 9 holes at 6am to see if I can get round on my own and get to work on time (or ever so slightly late!) However, if this does become a normal Tuesday morning thing, I'm not sure if this will make me worse or not!!!! I mean, next I'll be using snow as bunker practice in the winter!!!!
