Hello Forum,

I have been playing golf for just over a year now & I love it. I am 33 and wonder how I left it so long to come to this great game. Now, my wife thinks I am a bit too in love with the game, but when she says that all I see is a talking golf ball! Anyway, what I wanted to know was, does anyone else walk down the street, see a tree or car or any random object ahead and wonder what club they'd use to hit it? I thought anyone who loved golf would see a long street and think open fairway but when I asked my mate he thought I was mad.

I often see my wife as a golf ball - I have to be careful not to be holding a golf club when I see her otherwise I would be looking at a stretch inside...

You are not alone.

I do this all the time. I also wonder if I can hit my wedge over my house. When driving in the countryside I often look at fields and think, that would make a nice par 4.

I sometimes think I enjoy thinking about golf more than playing it.

I can not look at a peice of random grass and think about the lie :o

I once told my dear wife who was sick to death of hearing me talk about shots and golf just to lie and shake her head like she knew what I was going on about...! Not to bad now as she has given up and started playing herself and dreams of shots over trees and some dreaded holes lol

When walking or standing in the street I also imagine the distance with each club or if from where I am to the end of the street really is the glorious 300 yard marker... :(

Every piece of grass I see becomes a tee box, fairway or green I imagine playing shots to most objects that I see. I have even paced out most distances between places I go alot.

This feels like some sort of group councelling session where they are trying to rid us of our addictions. Reading it I am actually thinking about deleteing it because it makes me sound crazy :)

Quality poll.....only one choice!?

No, I don't.....

However, I understand such an issue. Once (many moons ago) I tried to finish a Tomb Raider game on PS.1 and found myself walking down the street looking at buildings working out how to climb up them, shimmy along, jump backwards etc.

I'm OK now though, the pills do the right job.

ROFL :D

I have hit the wedge over my house, on more than one occasion...........but only with air balls

I don't seee holes as I'm out but its always on my mind. I'll be walking to work or on the train and be thinking about the putt I missed or how I can improve my chipping etc. I have been known to check my posture and set up in the mirror in the gents at work and use various objects to check my grip

That said I've tried hitting balls over the house (not alway successfully)

Oh dear guys you lot need some kind of help.

I live 2 miles form my course How many shots would it take me to get there?

How far do you all live from you course and how many shots would it take?

Where's my tablets?

When I cut my grass I often think about leaving some longer stuff around the edges to shape the lawn but I know HID would go off on one and say something like.... ''even when you do the garden all you think about is golf''

Thank god for that-i thought i was alone!! I think about golf constantly and i'm allways practising my swing or putting stroke at work and at home! Drives my workmates and mrs sasquatch potty!! The strangest and probably most helpfull thing is if im in bed and cant sleep i close my eyes and go through each shot of every hole of my last round and try and imagine what i can do to improve next time(weird i know). To be honest ive never finished an imaginary round-i allways fall asleep!!

i do similar things to these, when at work and waiting for the kettle or photocopier ill have a few practise swings lol and i also when driving passed fields ill fink, you could get two nice par 4's on there lol

I wonder if I could hit a drive from the top of the factory roof to Staples corner down the A5. It is a long way, but if you get the bounce right on the A5, I think it can be done.
