Is your choice of ball primarily influenced through peformance or price?

Performance, price doesn't really bother me (within reason).

Last summer I started using the old Penta TP which is by far my personal favourite. Typically they now make a new one but stocked up on a load to see me through next summer.

Don't really like ProV's, never seem to play well with them so probably a mental thing. B330-S, Z Star and FG Tour are all very good balls I've no problem using. Want to give the FG Tour X a try next year.

Winter golf I use pretty much anything I can find.

If I thought a ProV1 would help me play better then I'd buy them - even at 3 quid a ball.

Sometimes I buy lost/found/recycled balls - not refurbs.

I got a dozen ProV1x's earlier i the year and I honestly couldn't see or feel any difference between them and some "new" ones I had in the bag. A "new" ball ceases to be new the moment you hit it - paying 35 quid a dozen doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Predominantly use Srizon Z Star XVs, just picked a load more up at £20 a dozen. That said will use other premium balls in summer too, and in winter if its too wet for a premium ball (ie its spinning too much) then I go to a mid range ball like the AD333

I use any old nonsense in winter but try to stick with the ProV1x in summer.

It's mostly a short game thing - I personally don't see any great difference between premium balls off the face of the club on a full swing but around the greens, I like to have a fair idea of what the ball's going to do if I manage to hit it properly. The ball I know best is the ProV1x, so that's what I use.

I have no loyalty for brand when it comes to balls, I'll play any ball that is decent and a good price.
I do like the premium balls, and have stocked up on Nike One Tour D and Srixon Z-Star XV, both at £20 a dozen. Also got a few DX3's at £9.99 for knockabout and winter rounds.
I won't buy ProV1's purely due to the price. NXT Tours cost more than a premium ball from other manufacturers so I won't buy them either.

I love my Callaway Hex Black Tour's which I initially got when subscribing to GM in August and haven't used another ball since receiving them in September, unless its a provisional.

I've really taken to them and as I was using them as my game improved, I have no intention of changing.

I find loads of premium balls which I am building up ready to sell and I have 50+ brand new Wilson Ultra balls which have my old company logo on which I will also sell cheap (PM if interested ;) )

I wished the Hex Black Tour also came in yellow for the winter.

Price

I spray em about a fair bit and it's all tree lined fairways and greens surrounded by trees on three sides where I play most of my golf

When I get better i will buy better balls

I will change a bit.

I find Pro v's a little on the spinney side at times. So I often use the Callaway is. In the winter something a little harder I prefer, so I go to the iz.

Its al down to the feel I get I suppose (and therefore how badly I am striking it!).

Prov 1s mostly, but iam a golf ball snob and shouldnt be,not good enough to play premium balls.IMO only pros and good ams should play these balls as they are the only ones that can get the most out of the ball ie hit it hard enough to spin it correctly.iam sure that anyone who has been on a full fitting day will know this, but maybe dont want to ! ;)

Pro v1x. During the winter I'll use all the balls that have been benched during the summer and also any pick up premiums.

If I have to but balls, I'll buy the practice stamped ones which are 1/2 the price.

Penta TP's for me, brought 6 dozen back from the States last year and still got loads left. My favourite ball by far.

Only one ball for me,and thats a ProV.I've tried them all over the years and nothing comes close imo.
I've been playing golf for 12ish years and have never bought a ball.Usually find a few and have 4 or 5 dozen new Prov's that i've won in club comp's.
I'm not convinced a brand new ball makes any difference,so for me it's old ProV's in summer, and older ProV's in winter.

I've been playing Penta tp3's, Wilson fg tours, pro v1's and z stars

I'm going to start playing prov 1's exclusively I reckon, unless I get a job lot of z stars in, I'm just a bit fickle

Pentas are pish, wilsons are pish... in my opinion of course.

Noodle+ are however a top ball and aren't pish at all :D

how VERY dare you, my choice of ball is not for ridicule, I am truely offended at you and your choice of language ;)

Love the Bridgestone RXS around the green but prefer the Callaway Hex Black Tour with the driver and the irons. Not a fan of the Callies off the putter though so will be sticking with the Bridgestones.
