All well know brand names are pish according to some single handicappers at my club who are buying and playing with balls they get from LIDL called Crivit.

I may get some, told you I was fickle:D

Crivit does sound rude tho' you sure it's allowed ?

I tried some inesis balls from France, apparently Thomas Levet uses them. They were about £30 a box though, so I may aswell get prov1's

Whatever decent balls I find when walking the dog over the course.. My game isnt consistent enough to justify spending £35 a dozen on golf balls. I'll let other people do that, then i'll find em once they've hacked em into the bundu.. A Pro V1 thats been hit twice is just as good as one thats out of the box..

When we spot someone on the tee with them, we shout Crivit BANG

Even when not on the current deal I think their only £15.00 for 24!

Happy playing most 'Premium' balls.

While Penta/TP5 is current preference, I'm happy with any of the Bridgestone or Srixon ones or the ProV black.

Nike and Callaways don't sound/feel very nice.

NXT Tour S seems a really good ball though.

I find plenty, so haven't bought a ball for 3 years!

ditto - but 35 years.......quite impressed with the new NXT Tour-S

I'll play any of the premium brands with the exception of Callaway which I simply find too firm off the putter. I have a load (at least 8 dozen) of new balls in the spare room I've won. I even gave several dozen as Christmas raffle prizes this year to get the pile down.

Maybe if you went to the course a bit more, instead of spending 30 hours a week at the range, you would use some of those balls!!:D

Can someone delete posts #37 & #38 from this thread as they were made in jest and don't represent the forum correctly.

thank you.

...and maybe #39.

fundamentally the same as a Srixon Z-Star - 3 piece, solid core ball; sounds good to me.

There all over our course, I know two Cat 1 players and loads of Cat 2's playing with them and winning comps with them also so they can't be that bad, or can very good players essentially play with any ball?

If you a liken them to a Z Star, then £15.00 for 2 dozen (currently £7.49) is amazing and possibly shows the massive mark up some brands are getting on their balls!

I'm sure if they were seen to be unsuitable they would have been already looked at by a mod and addressed, as such I see nothing wrong with my post #39.

I also think its the position of a mod to remove any posts and not a request from a poster, even the OP, which your not. I also think posts should be edited rather than removed, words can simply be removed if deemed inappropriate so the context of the post can still be read.

IMHO.
