Back in the day when I could walk the course ,( COPD has put paid to that ☹️) to start my warm up I would ,at my home course go and run to the ninth green and back to the clubhouse. Then attack the driving range.
I always felt better when I had the time to do it especially the run as it got all my muscles limbered up , if I was pushed for time I never really started hitting it will untill about the sixth hole .
So what do you do for a warm up ?

Depends how much time I've got

If I'm running tight it's just go to the first tee and done a couple of warm up swings using those weight rings you slip over your club

If early I'll hit 10 balls in the net , and then hit some wedge shots on the short game area

I jump out the car attempt to touch the toes once or twice and two or three practice swings and I’m good to go and funnily enough i usually come on to game after a few holes, so i definitely should warm up but too lazy.

In an ideal world hit 12 or 15 balls in the nets and do five minutes on the putting green. In reality it's usually no balls in the nets, one minute on the putting green and just do about 20 practice swings by the first tee until my back has clicked sufficiently.

I wonder why we Golfers have this attitude about not warming up?

Every other sport I’ve played or done the team or individuals always warm up, maybe to varying degrees, but still did/done it.

Not at my age apart from a few stretches and club swings.
20 years ago I would never go out without hitting 20 balls on the practice ground/range with stretches and swings before hitting ball.

I'll take a couple of wedges (56 and 60) and swing them both at the same time, slowly and smoothly to stretch muscles for a minute or too.

Then I will take my A-wedge and play two balls around our three par three holes....because of the length of the holes this will give me half a dozen full shots and four partial wedge shots along with some chipping practice as I go round. Then I'll spend five minutes on the putting green before heading off to the nets which are on the way to the first tee. Will then hit maybe half a dozen full 8 irons and two or three drives into the net.

I will then head off to the first tee and pull my opening drive into the trees.

I've only got a certain number of swings allocated to my body per day...can't waste them warming up... :ROFLMAO:

I would arrive an hour early.
Check in.
Do some putting to get the pace of the greens
Then some chipping
Then off to the range to hit some 50 yard wedges
Then 75 yard wedges then 100.
Then up through the bag...8,6,4, hybrid, 3 wood and finally driver. Always finish on a good one.
Then straight to the first tee.

Time

Can’t be bothered

Don’t want to waste too many good shots

It’s a bit boring

Don’t take it all too seriously

Prob a list of reasons why we don’t bother with warm ups

I’m thinking more of the reasons why WE should:

Loosen off

Warm muscles

Prevent injuries

Reduce the moaning about not getting going until the 4/5th hole etc.

And I did say We in my post as well Phil, I’m just as bad as the next guy.

Did you warm up/stretch off before you played Hockey or Cricket?

Most only get to play once a week due to work/family committments, turn up, stand about and then expect to shoot the lights out.🤷‍♂️

Not sure can recall ever getting injured playing golf

And my performance hasn’t been any different when doing any sort of warm up
