As the Subject line says. Do you always use a tee peg off the tee? Do you always use a glove?

I use both. I was once told that you should always use a tee peg off the tee even for very short par 3s. Anyone think different?

Tee peg offers slightly cleaner contact on ball with clubhead and the ball also has less surface area in contact with the imperfect ground surface thereby in theory using a tee offers more control over the shot i.e there are less unknowns involved and the ball has a higher chance of flying where it should as long as it is struck correctly.

I don't always use a tee on par 3's. Sometimes it's not needed and I find it helps with the control if you're hitting it off the grass of the tee. If I do use a tee it will be right in the ground.

Always use one on par 4's and 5's though. Nice it have a bit of clearance off the tee box for longer irons.

always take every advantage that you can

funny thats exactly how it was put to me

as for the using a tee on the fairway, thats what my wife thought we all did, also her aunt does that, she knows its not allowed but she just played with hir girl and wants to enjoy it.

I was a little shocked how many people say they do not use a glove the other day in another thread though, it will be interesting to see how that stat shakes out. Again I read or someone said to me that you could never grip the club as well without a glove. for me, i cant play a golf shot without one now.

Use a glove for all long shots, not for chipping/putting

Use a tee on all holes unless hitting a wedge on a par 3 (ball goes too high up the grooves with a tee)

Back in the olden days I was tought that a glove was not for grip, but to act as buffer against gripping to tight with the left hand.
That is why most of the pro's take it off when putting.
I never take it off and thats why i miss to the right when putting.

Same here on the short par 3s I'm only using the tee for the sake of appearances and then it's usually only the stub of a broken one which is barely in the ground. The other week I couldn't find one on the 12th tee (123 yards), so I just knocked a small piece of grass up into "tee" with the clubhead and propped the ball on that. I have to say it's the best shot I've ever hit on that hole, landed about 6 feet beyond the flag and spun back to about 3 feet to the right of the hole.

Naturally I missed the putt...

I've never found that to be the case.

Using a tee usually depends on what type of shot i want to play, i tend to hit the ball a bit further and with more spin when i don't use a tee on links turf and the other way round when the grass is lush on inland courses. Always use a tee with a driver but alter the height depending on the shot i want to play.
I used to take my glove off when putting but got out of the habit a few years ago and tend to keep it on for all shots.

I wear a glove for everything except putting, and always use a tee.
Even if I had a SW on a short par 3, I'd still use a tee a push it right in so the bottom of the ball was level with the top of the grass.

I use a tee for driver down to about 7 iron. With the 8 down to wedges I hit it off the deck. Just find it more comfortable, and also it replicates a fairway approach.

As for the glove I use it down to the green. Whether it's a short pitch onto green, in a bunker or on the green putting I take the glove off. I believe it's about feel when you get to the green so take the glove off for maximum feel.

Only use a tee with my driver. Every thing else off the deck. Can't hit an iron off a tee with sh..king or thinking i'm going to.

Before the big headed drivers came in, hit the old metal driver off the deck as well.

All comes down to what you feel confident with with me.

Always a use a tee. We have 2 short par 3's where sometimes its only a gap wedge for me but I still tee it. Pushed right in so the ball is flush with the grass. YOu get a cleaner contact.
My glove goes on before the first tee shot and comes off after the last putt (or chip-in!). Can't be bothered with taking it off, putting it back on again etc etc.
