Hi all, my daughters been out for 10 weeks with jumpers knee & had some major physio treatment as it was so weak, but now her legs are stronger its had an effect on her swing, her 3 wood she used to hit around 160 yards, yesterday on her first trip back to the course she hit it 220-225 yards & her 52 wedge has increased to 100 yds, so a review of her yardages needs a look at, am I right in thinking wedges are with a half & full swing, as with short irons, then mid, hybrid, woods are just with a full swing, just so I know I'm in the right direction.

Cheers

You're right.
If your daughter is now hitting the ball that far, I guess she takes her golf seriously.
Is there a local pro who can help her?

Thanks Bobmac, Yes she loves her golf, she's got her first lesson back with her pro next week as the physio only gave her the ok to resume golf on Monday, still abit of physio to go, running in a swimming pool etc :)

What she needs is control over her scoring clubs, her wedges
especially.
Does she know the clock face system for controlling her yardages?

She does but hardly uses it I would say, after watching Phil Micklesons secrets of the short game she has her 60 degree wedge welded to her hand, uses it for everything around the greens, to be fair she's very good with it but she was good at chip & runs till she got the lob wedge, needs to go back doing more of that incase she needs it, putting within 3ft of the hole is her biggest problem, she gets it close then misses the short putt & 3 putts sometimes.

Thanks Homer, scary think is a another girl at the club is the same age & hits over 300 yards & plays off +2.00 now, bloody youth today :)

Has she been tested?

I'm not surprised about the distance gain as it is pretty hard out at the moment in most places. That aside though if she used to have a weak lower body then she would have struggled to control the more powerful movements. Now she has a good soild base she will find it much easier to get extra power into the swing. Hope she keeps it up.
