To cut a long story short I ordered Pings new Ketsch putter recently via Direct Golf (who have been excellent). The putter was due to be sent to DG last monday (14th April) but was delayed. I then get a message saying it won't be despatched until the 2nd of May. Disappointed I asked to see if anything could be done to speed this up only this morning to now have despatch put back until at least the 15th of May as they have "components issues"

Why on earth launch a new putter if you don't actually have the components to build and supply the club on a timely basis?

Ho hum, looks like Im looking for a putter again and am hacked off with Ping

I ordered the PING Nome TR when it was released last year. Like the new Ketsch, it was milled at their Phoenix factory and it had a long lead-time compared to the non-TR version as it was a custom order (I don't think PING had any in stock in the UK).

I think that due to the precision milling the output is relatively low-volume and demand is probably quite high due to the recent success the Ketsch has had on tour. If it's anything like my Nome-TR, it'll be well worth the wait :)

This is a stock order, no reason for them not to have the components for their supposed flagship stock putter! To an impatient one like me it wont be, have cancelled and will buy something else

Are you sure this is down to PING? Some of these pseudo online retailers put stuff in the shop window with never a hope of sourcing it in time, if ever. You are then prompted to 'select another product'.

DG blamed TM for a delay on my mates 8 iron repair once... It turns out they had forgot to send it and it was still sat in there stock room after 2 weeks.

Ping are great and this simply cannot be their fault.

Thanks for my irons by the way. :)

same with all manufacturers, just life, no point getting upset over it

Yup, def Ping. Retailer (Direct Golf) told me they didnt have any stock and asked Ping for a delivery date before I paid for it.

I wanted a G25 3iron to match my set. Pro sent PING an email Monday morning. Following Thursday the 3 iron to my custom spec. with matching serial number to my set was in my hands !!

Now there's nowt wrong with that as service

Not a great state of affairs to find yourself in Steve!!

Did you get rid of the Futura X, hence the new search?

I too have been looking in the putter market again

There's a lovely limited Never Compromise blade on the bay just now :mmm:

Maybe the easter holidays had something to do with the delay in components from the US and assembly in the UK. It doesn't take a lot to get a backlog of orders when staff are off work. Particularly when the product is new and in high demand. All the times I've dealt with Ping, I haven't had any issues or cause to complain (apart from prices lol). 2-PW S-56's a few years back were built and dispatched to order with no delays.

Yes the futura went, have gone back to the Kombi (as i always do), it is sort of behaving but ive got the itch of wanting a new one again lol. Not that it should be too important for a week or so as our greens have been tined and dressed

Thanks for the head up. Been looking at the Ketsch (struggling to find anyone with one to try) but will hold fire until they hit the shops more fully. If I like it I'll want it asap

The local DG had the adjustable one in, but with an arc path. I personally want fixed length (i know how long i want it and dont want the adjustable distraction) as well as the straight back version, I dare say if you want adjustable there are some about

What you going to get Steve? Scotty GoLo?!!

Havent a clue, will use the Kombi for the weekend, really nothing else out there grabbing my attention. Other option is the futura X without the counterbalance I suppose but will have a look in a few shops to see if I can find something I like that I hadnt considered

I love how people like to try and explain for big companies when they make errors based on the service they received. Do the Easter holidays last over 4 weeks in America? Or are you say the assembly line is 4+ weeks behind?

Yes Ping usually have decent service but on this occasion have ballsed up launching a product they can't supply

I'm not making excuses for Ping, merely speculating a possible scenario as to why their supply can't match your sense of entitlement. Have you tried the old "do you know who I am?" ploy?
