Anyone use one for anything?

I have tried Connecting my PS3 to my Hi-Fi and it does nothing. Went to the PS3 Audio settings and selected the correct option, still nothing.

Tried Connecting the TV to a mini hi-fi and still nothing? Baffled.

Anyone know how they work?

i have to manually select digital input on my amplifier, it does not auto switch from analogue.

As Tommo points out abov, have you selected the correct input on your Hi-Fi?
I have a surround sound system which scrolls through the inputs one after the other. ie. HDMI, optical, digital etc.
Just make sure you have the output/input selections paired up.
Are you using an optical cable or a coax?

I was using Coax but recently I have had a fuzzy noise, distortion from it, changed the cables, same problem.

Checked all the speakers connected correctly, Must be the T.V because tried connecting it to the gaming chair rather than the HiFi and it was still fuzzy.

Now using the Ditital Audio cable from PS3 to the HI-FI, selecting the correct source (i.e audio cable) and its silent. Baffled!

Have used the PS menu to select audio optical as the audio out put, but nothing still!
