I haven't hit a three iron in donkey's years. I can't believe I grew up with one and somehow got told the hybrid was the way forward. I'm sure it was as inconsistent as any other iron in the bag.

What happened to the drive? (Or was the wind 7 clubs stronger than when I was there?
Wind was strong on the drive but ha died a bit for the 2nd.
Only hit 3w too...more on this later.....maybe

I hit hybrid into nine on Saturday, hit the pin and pinged off about 30 foot away, hit another pin high. Made birdie with the first and eagle with the second... Not quite the same story with a hybrid though is it... Fun though!

The 3 iron is the most trusted club in my bag off the tee and always has been. I've never got on with hybrids but then i've not played enough golf since they became fashionable and have struggled to hit them for some reason. I can pretty much place my 3 iron where I want it to go 8 times out of 10, with a hybrid of the same degree i'd be looking at 3/10.
There's nothing more satisfying for me than ripping a 3 iron off the deck arrow straight and land it on the green.
