Had a memorable day, when I started playing in medals in 2011 and given a hcap of 20 it has always been the goal to get to single figures, started the day at 9.6, and this morning had a career best of 70 net 60 ( 3 over) so reckon will get cut to 8.6 or 8.4 will find out Sunday.

Got fitted for x hot irons and I am due to get them hopefully next week, so how ironic that in their last competitive round the Diablo Edge irons got me to single figures, great clubs which have served me brilliantly, however bought them second hand and they need replaced, ps don't like to boast but well chuffed with myself !

Well done! How do you fare when you travel as your course is quite short by today's standards?

Yeah our course is approx 5400 yards, par 67 with no par 5's so when I go to other courses enjoy playing them, the good thing about my course is your short game has to be spot on and this helps me when playing other courses. I also find that when we get visitors playing the course they underestimate how difficult the course actually is.

short doesnt mean easy, mine is shortish @ 5900 ish but small greens and OOB on every hole nigh on.

Congrats on single figures, I can only dream of that lol

I have the diablo octane 3 wood, which I find a great club would love to play your course the scorecard looks good. I do not think I have played an 18 hole course with no par 5's. So ! how good are the diablo irons then ?

I agree short certainly doesn't mean a course is easy it just means its a different type of challenge. I actually tend to score better on longer courses as there is generally more room to work with and can open the shoulders up a bit more whereas shorter courses tend to be a fair bit tighter.

Golf clubs ALWAYS know when they are about to be replaced, and deliberately have a good game to try and persuade you not to change them over

Diablo edge irons were (are) easy to hit, great feel, my new x hots I feel are very similar, there was flecks of rust on the diablo shafts and they were about 4 or 5 years old hence the new investment.

Should also add used a Bridgestone b330 rxs on sat for the first time, excellent ball, great control around the green

There you go - nothing to do with the clubs at all ... ;)
