I know some very old people in their twenties and thirties, and some very young people in their sixties and seventies. Old is somewhat more advanced in years than your own present age. I'm 61, with 2 teenage kids, a 38 year old wife, and have a very active line of work. I can also get round the golf course, carrying my clubs, in a far more sprightly manner than many younger than me, depite the odd stiff limb and back trouble. So it's not just about age, being old is more than that, and a lot of 'youngsters' who make derogatory comments about 'oldies' better hope that they're as good as us when they reach our age!

they used to say that you were old when the police all appeared to be young, but since they must now be recruiting 16 year olds I don't think it can still apply.

Young up to 29
Ageing 30-45
Getting on 46-59
Past it 60+

You will have to enlighten me on what I'm "Past it" it on. At the age of 60 the only things I'm not doing that I was doing at 20, are playing football and making a pr1ck of myself after a couple of pints

Most folk my age are now supposed to live to 100.
So....middle age is now 50
Take 15 years off each side and you have
Young.....under 35
Middle Age 36 to 65
Getting On A Bit......65 to 85
Old 86 to 100
