Just back from an hour on the practice area standing in the cold and rain battering 6 irons. Cold hands finally drove me away. It was actually quite theraputic standing hitting balls off of frozen turf with rain dripping off me, strange as that may sound to some!

Also managed to get my hands on the new Ping i20 6 iron demo club today and it is nice. Its very nice although the CFS shaft didn't feel as nice or offer as much feedback as the AWT in my i15's.

Been there done that buddy.........Im not worth a nob of butter when my hands get cold...As it stands i have a disease called raynauds ....Not nice even in mildy cold weather...But i battle on with it thanks to my Zippo hand warmer. :)

Kid - try Evening Primrose Oil as it sorted out my Raynauds almost completely. Still have the coldest hands imaginable to anyone else but they feel fine to me (unless I thin an iron in the cold)!

When I'm on the range in all weathers or carry on to do 18 holes today when the rest call it a day at 9, I always think of Daley Thompson's quote about training on Christmas Day as his rivals wouldn't be but then doing 2 or 3 sessions just in case they did manage 1 !

Miserable weather through here today as well. Spent an hour at Kings Acre range blowing the cobwebs away. The cold eventually took the life out of my hands so an afternoon in front of the rugby on TV becons.

Good to get out to hit a ball in daylight though ;)

Cheers Pal.....Its not one ive tried to be honest...Is it just the cream i need or do i take it in my food in some way shape or form...
Worst thing is that on top of this i have this sweet knack of being able to get heaps of chillblains as well :( go figure.

Sorry Craw not trying to thread jack pal ;)

I take them in capsule form - get them from Tesco or similar and 1 a day has worked for me for years now. Today was exceptionally cold and only my right thumb suffered and went white and painful...

Not at all! I suffer from very cold hands as well and its not incommon to see me wearing mitts in May! Maybe I should try evening primrose oil as well as ginko!

I was in the 1st tee at 7.45am this morning and it was -6

Played 18 holes to handicap.

Got back in the car after, still -3

Been snowing here in Stoke since about 1pm so I'm glad I ventured out this morning as I can't see be playing much this week if it keeps on snowing.

Did a 2 hour short game session today with my pro ended the last 40 minutes practicing the putting in the clubhouse.....damn the carpet is fast................

Thanks Amanda!
I know how you feel about the thumb.....I can get it in all five fingers on both hands at times...Thats when its really severe.....It happened a few weeks back playing a 2 ball scramble with my daa....Were flying it standing on the 14th and then it hit me......Suffice to say i was worthless to him for the rest of the round...I couldnt feel anything. :(

Went out at midday and whilst the body was ok, my lips felt like they frozen:rolleyes:. Made me fell better by taking the money

I have to be honest and even though I've a reputation at my club for being on the practice ground in extreme conditions thecraw beats me hands down . Not sure how much I'd have got out of a session like that. Maybe in a heated covered bay on a range but definitely not outside against the wrath of the elements. Good to see some I20 demos about as they are high on my "must try" list

We didn't get snow until noon or so, was down the range 9.30 with my 5yo lad, hit 100 between us then he got cold and lost interest , took him home then I went back for another 50! Have had a long time away from golf and am enjoying just hitting a few balls. First whack with the new Mizuno driver too.
Was about 0c and I was pretty comfy tbh.
Hitting the ball half decent too.:smirk:

Bring on the golf season!

Its called "seize the moment", the wife took the kids for new shoes, I seized the opportunity and as I say, I enjoyed it until my hands refused to heat up again. Must have hit about 60 balls.
