I’ve seen that done before at Abama in Tenerife.An old guy told me about a time during the summer of 1976 when the grass was so scorched that a chap he was playing with hit a putt that not only left the green, but just kept rolling and ended up out of bounds!
I suspect mimicking our US commentary friends has 'gotten' more popular. I imagine it was a 'clutch' putt, and contributed to the 'winningest' day.De-green. Is that a word?
