David Warner walks off field in protest at being sledged

Obviously the sledge crossed the line. That's the line identified and constantly moved by Warner whenever it suits.

He was fortunate the opposition allowed him to resume his innings. They behaved like adults after he behaved like a child.

I'd imagine he's gonna get plenty more next summer in the Ashes.

Can't see him playing for the Aussies again.

Grade A to**er, embarrassment to the baggy green cap.

Dont think Justin Langer will care two hoots. If he's scoring runs then they'll pick him. The Aussies arent exactly brimming with opening batsman, especially after Renshaw was bizarrely used as a waterboy etc in the recent series v Pakistan.

we all know Warners crossed the line in the past, he admitted he did against Trott!!!

what makes this more interesting is who the sledgee was (the late Phil Hughes brother), if it hadnt been for that then Id happily laugh at the hypocrisy and utter ridiculousness that Warner thinks he has the right to be the one to decide where the line is (having been so far the wrong side of it most of his career) but in this situation, maybe, just maybe he did the right thing removing himself rather than staying, and if he had stayed, getting involved. id love to know what was said thats for sure!

Might have been about his Mrs & sonny bill!!

He could just, you know, stay and not get involved. Or does he not realise that he does have the option to keep his gob shut and just get on with it?

Other captains wont be so gracious further down the line when he gets further stick.

Jesus this is embarrassing. What a big pathetic man-baby.

Do the Aussies seriously not realise they are considered a laughing stock by the rest of the world over this issue?! The nation that prides themselves on bringing about the mental disintegration of their opponents. The self styled inventors of the sledge. Yet the second the tables are turned on them and they are given a dose of their own medicine, it’s all “Waaah, waaah, waaah, it’s not fair!”

Pathetic. And I find it highly ironic they call us “whingeing” Poms. They’re the biggest sodding whingers around!

If he had stayed and it got out of hand people be saying he should have been the bigger man and walk away , maybe he learned from the trott incident .. I do get the irony of it , but it only takes the wrong word or statement to effect to trigger something ,

perhaps walking off was better that what might have gotten said re hughes brother ..lets be honest from past history warner talks before thinking normally ..

Has teed himself up for a lot more tho

Or he could have just ignored it and carried on regardless.

What's he going to do next summer when he gets it both barrels? Cos i cant imagine Joe Root allowing him to resume his innings if he walks off.

If he was getting sledged off Phil Hughes’ brother then his Phil is fair game for any return sledging imo. And I bet that’s what Hughes thought and was trying to get him to take the bait. Maybe why they allowed him back, because it was their own player’s attempts to use his own brother’s death as ammunition that was decidedly dodgy ground.

There is something behind letting him back on anyway
At a guess u could b very right in ur last sentance . He duly punished their sportsmanship so next time it happens i cant see any1 letting him back on
