David James is Bankrupt

Stan Collymore shared a flat with him at one time. In his autobiography he said that if James scratched his car he'd just buy another. If he scuffed his shoes he'd throw them away & buy another pair. He appears to have been a tad extravagant, an unusual trait in a footballer.

a year of respective poverty for him then he'll continue to live a lavish lifestyle. Poor him!

Don't ask me how to find it but there is a link to the company that is doing the auction of all his stuff that is being auctioned off. Anyway a lot of the stuff he is auctioning off is just a small tad of what he must of collected over the years. So he has a lot more of it knocking about somewhere.

Secondly his stuff is being sold/ auctioned off because his accountant forgot to pay mr Tax man who is not very happy ( tongue in cheek) so if he has you in his sights, oh dear.

The late George Best said that he spent 90% of his money on wine, women and song, but wasted the rest!

If you get used to a lavish life style on a top footballer's income, it may be difficult to live more modestly after retirement. Even if you have made a small fortune, it's difficult to earn much income on it these days!

Happens a lot in Sports. Football isn't the worst either, 78% of former NFL players are bankrupt. They get so used to a lavish, extreme lifestyle that when their ultimately short career (especially in the NFL) comes to an end, it's very difficult for them to switch to a more responsible outlook, and it's not long before they're broke.

I was just about to say that!

We, as simple ish folk can't understand losing millions, but when you go everywhere with 50 people and foot the bill every time, a big house and all the running costs, it doesn't take long to piss through money
