David Haye

after watching Fury swap handbag shots with Vlad i cant see fury beating Haye.Joshua would be a good fight but Haye dosent need an up coming fighter that is still hungry . as for wilder ,well after last nights effort i think Haye could take him ,as wilder didnt exactly thrill and dazzle with skill and speed.Haye needs a couple more warm up fights yet before looking at the top.

The Joshua fight would be massive and would easily sell out a stadium. Haye is still a big deal as late night proved. 3 years out and sells that many tickets. He'd end Joshua quite comfortably I think, AJ has non existent head movement and is far from a top heavyweight.

i agree that Haye should beat Joshua but its a big risk taking on a big puncher in a non title bout. i think Haye dosent need that sort of risk .not if he is set on winning the world title in some form or another.if he is only in it for the cash then Joshua is the way to go.
i really think he can clean this division up .

I use to like David Haye still think he is a blown up cruiserweight , better boxer than any of the current heavyweight champs , Has he the size & Punch ? I personally don't think so .. I know he beat the bigger guy previously Valueve {sp} or something , big eastern block guy but he was kinda at an end .. Fury dragged himself & heavyweight division down again the other night , had a chance to recover by being respectful & worthy of being called a world champion but just made a show of himself again ..Maybe its staged like the WWF to sell the fights coz lets be honest the quality of boxers or boxing wont sell it

If I was Haye I would go after Wilder first, he looks pretty hopeless for a heavyweight WC.

wilder would be a good route to take as the yank would think it was an easy payday ,Haye is quality and he can punch with it . his quick hand speed would be too much for most if not all of the top contenders out there at the moment.

That would be the easiest belt for him to get and then gives him something to negotiate with for any unification bouts.

Just don't know if his shoulder and hands are really 100% again and are up to another 2-3 years of fights at WC level. Last night didn't give any clues about that...

David Haye was an exciting and explosive Cruiserweight. He came back from an unexpected and humbling early defeat at the hands of Carl Thompson to unify the division. He was a beast at 14 stone.

However his move up to heavyweight was not as stellar for me. Of the Heavyweights he's beaten I'd rate John Ruiz as perhaps the best and he was slightly below world class (despite being a former world champ) in my opinion. The win over Valuev was a tactical masterpiece from Booth and Haye probably ran a marathon that night. However he did prove he had the power trouble even the biggest of men.

So while certainly powerful and quick, victories over Audley Harrison and Derek Chisora don't exactly mean much on the world stage. The one time he fought a world class fighter in Klitschko, he didn't land a glove on him and again ran for 12 rounds. It is therefore puzzling to me why people assume he would walk through the likes of Wilder, Fury and Joshua. All much bigger that Haye and also all much more mobile than Valuev/Klitschko. Wilder and Joshua both have KO power to worry Haye and Fury is very hard to beat with his awkward style.

Saying all that I am happy to see Haye back and glad to see he's over his injuries. Although Saturday night proved nothing other than he can beat up a club level fighter. He may also rue leaving Adam Booth. I personally think he's hoping for a mega pay day with Joshua then he'll be off on his bike rather than aiming for a world title.

I thought Haye was impressive ok you can only beat whats in front of you and he did that well.

The commentator was saying we didn't learn anything but I beg to differ.

We learnt he was still a great finisher with lots of power,he was fast even though he was a stone heavier and imo he is still a contender.

I cant see him fighting Fury until he has a belt of his own and I cant see him fighting Joshua for a couple of years if it happens at all.

Joshua had a wake up call in his last fight and I can see him taking an easier fight for the next couple.

If they all fought now I would say Fury would beat them both although they both have a punchers chance but I just think Fury has the edge at the moment.

I think Haye would beat Joshua at the moment but maybe not a couple of years down the line.

All about opinions but imo its good for British boxing

Hayes come back is a big suprise to me. I don't know what he hopes to achieve from coming back.. He retired with a respectable record and a good reputation. I just don't get what he's gaining fighting nobodies, other than a few quid. He's used to fighting opponents that are up there with him. And to see him taking these sorts of fights is sad to see in my opinion. He's either broke, or crazy. Or both.

Nothing sad about it. You don't come back after 3 years out and dive straight back in where you left off. He needs a couple of warm up fights before challenging for a title. The fighter he fought was clearly out of his depth but he was ranked as a top 10 fighter by at least one governing body.

I agree 100%.
He has had 3 years off, what were you all expecting?

Mark De Mori was unbeaten and has over 2 dozen knockouts to his name so he did pose a threat of sorts - the guy can obviously punch.
I did question the calibre of De Mori's opposition in his fights, they weren't greats but at the same time he isn't a bum.
Haye made the guy look average, very average. After 3 years off, to come back much heavier than ever before and to dismiss your opponent in the first round is actually quite impressive.

What I don't understand is how everyone applauds Joshua for knocking out everyone in front of him within 1-2 rounds but Haye does the same and he is being written off.

Whilst Haye may not win a world title again, I bet he gets his shot and that is what he is looking for.

I agree except De Mori wasn't unbeaten.
