Cycle Helmet

got my own collection of them that I use for trophy’s ?
It’s a good job as your trophy cabinet is lacking anything golf related ?

(Same as mine before you mention it ??)

Could have grabbed me a double on Thursday, 2 (man & woman) racing down the country lanes I had to cut through delivering to pharmacies, I was behind them for a couple of miles, all kitted out in racing Lycra’s, swerving out at every bend, never glanced back once to see I was there and let me by, head down and it was stuff everyone else!

Ive always used Met crash hats. You need a good number of vents, and a retention/clamp system that will hold the hat on your head even if the chin straps aren't done up.
Whatever you get, make you it's adjusted correctly.:)

I have always had a very philosophical attitude to wearing a helmet when out cycling.

As some who once spent 6 months re-couperating from a serious accident and leaving me with injuries that have affected my life style ever since, having been hit by a car as a pedestrian, is spending the rest of my life in wheel chair or bed bound with all my mental faculties the better of the outcomes?

a guy at a test house I used to use got knocked off his bike. Two broken arms. His helmet smashed to bits, without it, yes, he would probably be dead. The muppet who knocked him off commented on his smashed helmet, yep, always thought these things were useless.

Received a message telling me where a more local shop was that had helmets in stock. Tried three to find one that fitted properly, so thanks for telling me I needed to do that(y)HID is still without one though as they didn't fit him. TBF, they only had a small selection in stock as I think they have had a run.

The most important thing is to make sure it fits properly; apart from the comfort aspect, if it doesn't fit properly it won't do its job when you need it to. That's if you're still wearing it because it's uncomfortable. Only time I've ever bought a crash helmet mail order was to replace exactly the same make & model that I'd dropped. No way I'll buy something that important without trying it on first.

You did the right thing. (y)

It did surprise me. HID's one will have to wait though a shop said they couldn't get more stock in.

I used to have to wear one all day at work, and you didn't always get a choice in whose helmet you got. Trust me I realised the importance of comfort very quickly. ;) The fit aspect I learnt through other people's errors unfortunately. :(
