Custom Fit / Lesson ?

Three shops, three horrendous fittings. Enough proof for me. Given that the clubs I got fitted for by an independent fitter had me as green dot (2.25 upright) one store had me as 3 degrees flat from a static fit alone. One offered me nothing more than the club in a R and S flex

Could it have been that the guy was doing it right? You bob up and down an awful lot in your swing so I'd imagine that you present the club back all different ways.

Only time I've ever tried to buy a club from AG was when looking for a lob wedge. Guy said I'd be better off coming back after getting someone to look at my swing as I piped every other shot I tried to hit.

Funny how the two independent fitters then both had me as Ping green dot without me telling them what AG had suggested. One only did a static fit so hardly conclusive and that was before we'd started hitting balls in earnest. Simply don't trust their fitters or fitting system anymore. However as I said if others are getting a good service and clubs that work then perhaps AG has changed what they do and how staff are trained but it's not enough to ever convince me to go back

Thought you would like to know how I got on today with my 1st ever custom fit as I posted the original question.
i loved every minute of it, as much as I was asking the fitter questions about all sorts he just concentrated on the fundamentals of the stats, launch, angle, speed, dispersion etc, it was a real eye opener to basically have clubs that hopefully now work for my swing and my body etc instead of the opposite way round.
I truly cannot remember all the figures as I was too engrossed in everything going off and that feeling of wow when I finally settled on the new irons, and was hitting balls like I've never done before on a range.I am no expert far from it but I would truly recommend it if you can allow yourself and be it "the high street" or an independent like I did via a recommendation.
