I'm going to get custom fitted at the Mizuno Fitting Centre near Glasgow tomorrow. I'm interested to see how the new shaft load analyser works. I've always been fitted for Dynamic Gold S300 in the past, and considering the shaft options now available from Mizuno I'm curious to see what is recommended.

Has anyone been to a Mizuno Custom Fit and used this device? And what shaft was recommended?

I think there are a number of guys that have used the centre in New Malden (near London) and a few that have used Clays in Wrexham and all have had nothing but good to say so I think it'll be an interesting (if expensive) experience

I was looking at Mizuno's as well but being from Derbyshire it was a heck of a way to travel. So I decided to go for Ping in the end, I am booked in at the Ping centre in Gainsborough next month anybody had any dealings ?

Hi , my mate went to Wrexham - he has just been fitted with the latest MP62's???? Cost him about £680. He said the centre at Wrexham was brilliant and he didn't realise how important it was to get custom fitted properly. He had an extra 1/2 on his shafts - Stiff insteadd of the regulars he had and two degrees up. Only issue was getting the shafts - It has taken 3 weeks longer than expected. He was told they will be assembled in Scotland and then shipped down but i guess its well worth waiting for.

They get assembled at the factory at Cumbernauld, thats where i got fitted for a set of MP32s a few years ago. I'm going to get fitted for a set as i intend to compete a bit more this year. I'm going to try and sort all the clubs in the bag except the putter, i expect to like the MP62s or MP68s the best as they are closest to what i've used in the past. Will keep an open mind and see what performs the best.
Will let you know how it goes and what i think of the clubs tomorrow.

I was recently fitted for a Driver at a Mizuno Centre and had a go with the load analyser out of interest, for me it came out with three options, 1)S300 2) Rifle 5.5 3) KBS Stiff, any of the three would suit it's just a case of what suits/feels the best. That was my understanding of it anyway....

This shaft analyser looks an interesting piece of kit. Would love to have a go with one out of interests sake. Be good to hear your views on it after your appointments

I went a couple of weeks ago and was put on the swing dna club and the following came up;

DNS300XP; KBS reg & an XP S300.
I tried all three with different head combos and the best flight and accuracy were the DNS 300XP.

Did you buy , was this what you expected , was it worth it , would you recommend it ?

At Clays in Wrexham, they did me a deal at £70 per club (MP52's), and buy 1 wedge get another free (wedges are still in my locker !). I also got a Bennitardi putter for £50. I could have taken the order form to any Mizuno stockist though.

It's a great way to spend an hour trying all the different iron / shaft, driver / shaft combinations and looking at the launch monitor to see your distances, ball flight etc.

Yes I did buy, I ended up with MX200 heads as this was the better of the two I tried, MX300 was the other, I got a more consistant flight with better distance and the accuracy was vastly improved. The club heads were what I expected but the shafts were a different matter as I thought I was a regular shaft yet the dna put me between reg and stiff and with thirteen different shaft types with numerous amount of varients within those thirteen you will get the right one to suit your swing.
I would definitely recommend it the staff are very knowledgeable and helpful theres no pressure to buy from them it also gives you a better insight to your swing pattern and it's free.

Just got back from Glasgow Fitting Centre.
I would highly recommend it, the Professional was very knowledgeable and helpful. I started by hitting my own 6 iron to get swing speed, launch angle, spin rate, angle of attack, club path, ball flight and distance. From there i tried Dynamic Gold S300 and Rifle Project X 5.5 in a few heads. The Rifle shaft produced a better ball flight and a bit less spin, i tend to hit down a bit too steep on the ball. I then had a go with the shaft optimiser which confirmed the selection, it measured the swing speed and the load at four points in the shaft, the information was entered onto the computer and it gave 3 shaft options, DG S300, Rifle Project X 5.5 and KBS Stiff. The heads that gave the best results were the MX-300s, only downside is that the PW is 45 degrees, 1 degree weaker than my current 9 iron. I would be more comfortable getting the MP-58s up to 9-iron then bending a 50 degree wedge to 48 degrees and having 52, 56 and 60 degree wedges.
I'm going back next month to try the new drivers and fairway woods as they are available for fitting later this month.
In summary, i was very impressed with the whole service, the clubs are fantastic and the fitting is very thorough. I have a bit of time before i hit a ball in competition to make up my mind.
