I think it looks nice. Not sure we will get the views on Wednesday though, pretty much depends on the weather (which at the moment is looking a bit wet).
Still, free golf at a nice track is better than work.
there seem to be a few where you have to carry rough to reach the fairway but if you measure it on ge it's do-able.
there looks to be one hole, 12, with a tree and patch of rough in the middle of the fairway, which narrows quite a bit at that point - interesting - but I think more a trap for the long hitters, the rest of us will be praying before the 2nd shot! that patch of rough on 14 could be interesting too.
I had a look at the gradients on google maps as well - they don't look too daunting - gog magog is worse - mind you I now have the powerbug!
Some of the holes lying across the contour could be fun.
The layout of 13 and 14 is a little odd, you have to go round the back of 14th tee to get to the 13th, then cut back up to 14. Definitely an older style course, no easy way back if you only wanted to play 9.
by the way, I've checked three weather forecasts, bbc as usual useless that far ahead as they won't commit (ever since the hurricane); the others seem to agree that there will be some rain but can't agree how much.
still who cares - I don't rust!
Weather according to BBC is pants but have been onto better and more detiled sites (the one for airports) and they are predicting no more than a possibility of a brief light shower.
I had planned a brief foray this evening but that may have to be put off, if time permits I may still go.
I've been reading up on the stack & tilt swing but this may not be the time to try it!
Good research Viscount!
On the 12th that patch of rough is about 260 off the tee so you'll be doing well to reach it this time of year unless there's a strong tailwind.
There are times when the cross-heather on the par 5 14th will definitely come into play on the second shot - if it's into the wind, or you don't quite get your tee shot or you're not that long off the tee - but reasonable hitters on calm days will clear it with two good blows and often be able to get up in two (it's the easiest of the par 5s)
Toughest holes are probably the 2nd, definitely the 18th and maybe the 6th which is a longish par 3 played across a gully - bail out too far right and your up and down chances are relatively low.
Anyway, hopefully you'll all be able to make your own assessments after Wednesday. Let's pray for semi-decent weather...
