Planning my stag day for next september......
As I'm now WAY too old to spend entire day drinking things called "monkey brains" & the like, I thought that I'd take 11 of my mates for a game of golf before heading back into town for a curry and the evening's 'entertainment'

so here's my list wish list

1 - somewhere a little different
2 - a place that'll take 12 people on a Saturday
3 - nowhere super-long (my dad's 70 after all)
4 - an hour or so drive from edinburgh
5 - £100 a head budget

I had initially thought about the Queen's at Gleneagles, but their Saturday rates put me off a little!

Any suggestions out there?

Dunbar could be one to look at. Nice links course, not too long off the yellows or whites, will be in great nick at that time, under 100, sat can be medal day so check dates, easy to get to A1 all the way from edinburgh. I think they do deals for a dozen or so.

ahhhhhhhh the Dunvegan...... takes me back to my (student) winchin' days....

once got the last train home on a sunday night - woke up in Newcastle! :0O

best man lives in Dunbar - so that could do the trick, but perhaps a little close to his doorstep
Like the look of Dundonald, Kingsbarns & Goswick.... enquiries away

Kingsbarns has no members so shouldn't be a problem getting on to. We were just having a look round on the way home from St Andrews, and got invited into the clubhouse by what I assume was the manager. He told us that Lee Trevino had played there, and thought it was the best course he had played in the UK. High praise from someone who knows his links courses. The £185 green fee was a bit of a shocker, but if you can get a residents deal I would go for it.
