Course Status

The snow is slowly going but the freezing weather will keep the course off limits for a bit. Not expecting to play before Xmas but would hope for conditions to improve by the week after (a bit hopeful I know)

played 9holes on sat and will probably get out for another 9 this weekend as a practice before a friendly/grudge match on tuesday between mates. all at kirkistown castle GC. not a drop of snow and still on full greens.

OH to be beside the seaside...... fantastic.

I would go and play apart from two problems.

Firstly, although we've only had 12" now (very unusual for a London Borough), I can't even get out of my driveway, let alone get anywhere near the course.

Secondly I would need some tee pegs about 14" long and a hammer to get them into the ground.

Course well and truly shut. Have around 1.5ft of snow and its still coming down. Reckon the snow will melt early next week at best and then the course will be saturated, so probably no golf till end of next week at the earliest.....BOO!

A belated welcome mate. :D

From your description of the 18th in another thread, I'm guessing Langley Park. It's the nearest course to where I live.

Made it to work at last....we have taken a measurement of the snow and it is 37 inches!!

Conflicting reports of what is going to happen next, one report is of a thaw come Monday but another from 3 fellas who said this was on it's way 3 weeks ago (auld fermers) say another 8inches will fall early next week!

Can't see any golf being played either way til at least the New Year.

No worries. Thanks for the welcome.

Your right with Langley Park....and from your picture on that thread your at Sundridge Park, which I have to drive past (along with Chislehurst) to get to! Have you been a member there long?

One and a half feet of snow.........

You have to take into account I'm a shandy drinking southerner, gawd bless ya. :D

E mail from the club this morning say the course is closed for at least 2 weeks,my club is full of rocket scientests :)its been snowing here most of the day well over 2 ft now

I'm still a bit of a new boy. Only been there about 10 years :)

I've only been at LP for 4 years, so I'm a proper newbie! Joined LP with 3 mates and SP was a close second, but the guys I joined with live on the other side of Beckenham so wanted a more centrally placed course to where we all lived at the time.
I know a few guys at SP, lovely course's and always a nice atmosphere in the clubhouse. Some of the holes would be great for sledging at the moment!!!
