Course open

Its better than nothing mate still cant believe that tho after the weather during the week my course still has a 6 inch covering,so driving range it is again this week ,enjoy your game amte.

Just had this from the club...

I am pleased to say that the course is open tomorrow, and that the Xmas Fayre Pairs competition is going ahead as planned.

I drove by this afternoon and pretty much all of the snow (ice!) had gone, but there was standing water on the greens I could see.

Gone and hurt my wrist and hand yesterday but since it's predicted to get cold again next week with possibly more snow it might be the last chance I get to play this year so I'm going to try, even if I only hit half shots all the way round.

You lucky so and so`s managing a game :)

Our course, despite the thaw, is still under snow everywhere apart from next to hedges and trees

All those playing the weekend, enjoy and play well :D

Spoke to our pro yesterday and while we still have some snow around he hopes to have it open for the weekend

I know we are all desperate to play but is it worth opening so soon after all this snow has just gone? surely another week for the water to disperse would be better for the course.

Open, but 18 temps. No fun. Not really golf at all. Bung in the ignorant 4 ball in front of us who despite being on an empty course wouldn't let a 2 ball through, and a recipe for a crap afternoon. I'm not normally into letters to the comittee, but I am flipping livid this time. Won't do any good, but need to register a protest as it's not on. Especially as we have a notice regarding this very point on the notice board.

If I'd posted that the board would have melted!

My course has been open all week but on temp greens and hedgehogs for trolley users. I'm hoping against hope that as its the Christmas stableford this weekend (0-16 tomorrow and 17-28 on Sunday) and it has been miled today and forecast mild tomorrow that they might get them back on proper greens.

course is open and I got out for 18 yesterday*, two temp greens which have been repositioned a couple of times without any info as to position.

* played like a donk - couldn't swing for toffees. chipping I just judged on whether I landed it where I wanted - everything afterward is a bit of a lottery as it's bone hard just under the surface. putting wasn't bad either.

Be stunned if greens are on tommorrow. Couple of tees couldn't get a tee in the ground. Had a look at some greens, soft for about 5mm, then solid ice. No way they will be on tommorrow. Bum.
