Getting so frustrated with the way APGC is, or isnt , managing the course.
All bunkers - all 6 of 'em! - have been declared GUR until further notice...yet they are perfectly good enough to play out of. No ecplaination as to why. We've had comps run which they've adjusted handicaps after..can't do that can they?
Also, in previous Winters, all par 3 holes have had a range mat put down for us to tee off from. It protects the tees, which are shocking anyway. Apparently there have been complaints from a handful of people who dislike using mats.
Most of the par 3 tee boxes are now simply mud but that's alright because a few people are happy. God alone knows what state they'll be in by March.
Most of the greens are full of holes , well, best way to describe them is a bit like a divot. There's obviously been a weed or moss or something there. This has been dealt with but the "crater" left behind makes putting a lottery. Some are 1/2 inch deep.
There were only "Oily Rags" available to moan to, or at least seek an explaination, today and I hope I can find someone in authority to try and find some answers.
All in all it just emphasizes the fact that they have no money, won't be getting any investment due to the shadow of HS2 and that they just don't seem to care.

Despondent of Aylesbury....:(

Sorry to hear all that - doesnt sound promising and posdibly going to get worse ?

Sorry to hear that Imurg, its sounds a nasty vicious circle - made more obvious by the deteriorating weather. I always enjoyed a round at AP but always felt it was a decent course without a 'Club feel' off course. If you end up at AVGC it will be chalk and cheese on the social side and the course is a fair test.

Time to move on I think mate. You've stuck it out for a while now and it clearly isn't going to get any better with HS2 looming.

I look forward to receiving a bar credit for referring you at AVGC ;)

Seriously if you want to come up for a game at some point to see how it is let me know

Can't understand why you're still there Ian, is it dirt cheap compared to the surrounding clubs or something?

It is at the cheaper end of the scale but its more the convenience that keeps me there.
If I get a cancelled lesson I can be on the course within 20 minutes as long as I have a 3 hour window....

Ah...!! The Balsa Wood Boy strikes again...!
Hope it clears soon Mate - bad backs are, well, bad!

tbh Ive fared pretty well this season so cant moan too much but yeah annoying, saying that having just seen the fcast for the next few days it may well be 2 inches under by monday morning!

Can relate to this post so much..Been to Accrington today, and it has a lot of things going for it that my current club doesn't..Especially course management and members interests....Got me thinking this one..Good luck whichever way you go.
