How is everyone's courses playing so far with the start of the winter ?

Played mine today and its in good condition considering the weather we've had for last few days. What they do at ours is they put in last year built in astro turf mats on 3,4,6,7,15,16 holes these are at the backs of the tees making the course play alot longer, there decent ones like you get at the indoor football pitches.

The greens were hollow tined and filled in October and are in great nick there running fast and true for this time of year, they will be like this all winter, also we've no winter greens or mats, so looking good for some decent golf this winter weather permitting

I was going to play today but it rained all day and half the night yesterday. The course will be very soggy indeed. Got a good day tomorrow, some rain thursday but it should be dried out a bit by Friday.
If the rain comes steady rather than in bucket loads we should be alright. I didn't play on a temp green last winter and the course was open every day except when it snowed.

Not played since the first Wed in October but am getting back out on Saturday weather permitting. It looks great and I imagine it will be up to a good level. Its only winter greens in frost and as a true links on the coast that doesnt happen often.

The course is OK but a bit damp and leaves everywhere. The greens have slowed no end and you really have to fire it at the hole as anything dead weight is hanging on the lip. Winter rules are back in again as well.

Sand Martins was shut most of the day and finally got 6 holes open and I think we had the back 9 open initially although its hope to be fully open again tomorrow. Seems to be draining away which I guess is testament to the ditch clearing the greenkeepers have been doing around the place to give it a chance to run off the course and away.

Galgorm on Sunday was glorious, greens had bounce, fairways were running a little etc.
Our course was shut yesterday and last weekend bunkers were GUR, drainage is constantly being worked on as we have our own trenching equipment etc but we have no water features for the water to run into to and I as an uneducated fool in the ways of the green stuff, think this is why our place doesn't grain quickly enough, plus its built on a clay soil.

Ours is in excellent fettle, the weather being damp and warm has really helped the fairways recover and they are now lush and green if a little on the soft side.

The greens are as good as they have been all year.

Most of the course is on temporary tee boxes now as the much needed leveling and re-turfing is carried out.

Ditto.

We had a hell of a gale here over the weekend. I had to brush the car down with a soft kitchen broom just to see the darn thing. I'm expecting a leaf frenzy tomorrow......
Let's hope the damp leaves don't make my noodles soggy.

Played ours Sunday, the tee areas were very giid fit thus time if year but 3 or 4 are fresh newly seeded tees. Not one Matt as yet. Greens are soft but are running true and are good. The only downside is our Greenstaff are not raking bunkers in the morning which us having two negative outcomes the sand becomes wet and solid making it hard to play off and overnight rain generally stands in the bunkers but if they were raked alot more water would drain through.

Played Dunbar last friday and it was aaamaaaazin. The greens were just cut and rolled and they were cutting fairways and laying new turf after the storms of last spring. I can see a membership soon.

Ours is playing superb but bloody long.

Tommo, you best get your name doon cos I am sure they still have a list, they did a year ago, shame I aint working there any more or I could have made sure they blackballed you on the grounds of you being a miserable old ***. ;)

Forgot to mention that last week the tee mats were out on the course though not in use. With the rain this week I suspect we will be off them on a few holes by the weekend
