How has your course held up during this prolonged spell of hot weather?

My course Nazeing is playing terrible grass all uncut and uneven resulting in some disgusting lies and bounces. The green are being watered on a regular basis but the water isn't penetrating the ground its so hard baked its sitting on top therefore we are putting on damp greens but these are not receptive to approach shots.

Desperately need rain and some rest on the tee boxes.

Played mine yesterday. It's in incredible condition and actually surprised me as I was expecting it to have been a little more baked. Greens were really consistent and the patches that there had been trouble due to disease last year have really come on. Looking forward to getting out now during the week.

Played a friend's course today and it's baked solid. Had to borrow some plastic castle tees as my wooden ones were getting nowhere.

Having said that, I do have an entry for the forum distances thread. I measured my longest drive at 391 yards. The strong wind from behind as well as the steep hill at 250 yards on the fairway that's another 100 yards to the bottom may have helped :D

My course is poor.
Bone hard,poor lies,bunkers horrendous.
Greens very good though.
No joke, yesterday there was 3 lads going around in a buggy.
One was playing without a shirt on,wearing flip flops, unbelievable.

Same as my place but our greens are quite a-tro-shus, getting better now the ground-staff have got the sprinklers working for the first time (maybe even the first time ever).

I could only putt well on them thanks to Bob, his V-Easy and just finding the middle of the putter face.

Typical links - brown fairways, green greens. Rough is interesting if you go off line... we're still looking for a couple of members who set off in Saturday's comp

Fairways are green. Greens are, erm, green  . Fairways are running fast, but the greens are slower than expected. They're still pretty firm and true, just not running quickly.

The only Browning we have is in the longer rough and on some of the tee boxes.

Ground staff are doing an excellent job.

Going to get some rain this week so that might freshen things up a tad.
Tee boxes are scorched, fairways are parched, greens suffering in places......
Dandelion problem has hopefully been treated and rectified - some fairways are awash with them.
Not much golf this week then a week away - hoping it'll be back to looking right when I come back.

Our place last weekend was brown all over and rock hard. Distance is not an issue at the moment as 5 iron went 290 yards yesterday with no wind.

However, we have fairway sprinklers and i'm told thay have been used every night in he last week, so now we have a bit of green returning to parts of the course, still rock hard though.

I've i VIP guest tonight and i'm sure he will report back on the course after he's played;)

Greens, faiways and tee boxes in fantastic condition thanks to clever investment in an irrigation system a number of years ago. the rough is very dry, there is the off scorched bit of fairway, but overall you wouldnt know its been hot hot hot!

Sadly our club doesn't have the resources to water fairways etc so they are parched and brown. This results in long running balls and very erratic bounces. That said our greens are immaculate, as good as anywhere else I've played recently.

Fairways suffering a little bit in places but nothing too bad, greens are fine but a little on the slow side as I think they haven't cut them as short to try protect them a little.
