Course Closed..?

How does your course inform you if it's closed.
Does it at all?

We use the BRS Booking system - could they not mark it on there..?

They certainly don't put it on the website.

Closed till 10 but may get out after that if the snow stops.

My course is useless at this. You either phone the pro shop or pitch up and find out it is closed. No information anywhere aside from that.

Used to be word of mouth, pitching up to find it closed or telephone, if I remember last time the secretary sent out an e mail.

They don't really. They like you to turn up so that you spend some cash in the coffee shop first before hitting the range/having an impromptu lesson while the thaw happens. Good business sense......cheeky though

Email and course status is also mentioned on the front page of our site. They are pretty good that way.
Asst pro also mentions on Twitter.

I just look out my window and decide for myself. For instance we have 2 or 3 inches of the white stuff.

I've come to the conclusion that the course is shut for all bar sledgers!

I have just done ours as we are shut due to snow.

Phone message,email,twitter,faceache and BRS System on the top of todays timesheet.

Not sure we can do much else than that,website is something we are looking at but during the winter it's members only really so they know where to look to find it out.

Newark golf club have a good way of informing their members of the state of their course. They just put a sign up.

We have a course status link on the home page that is updated every hour.

The course is 3 miles from my house so its a level of common sense really, my old club i was at as a junior was useless, would get me bats, get on the bus for around 25-30 mins, to be greeted by a 2ft by 2ft sign at the entrance to the bar " course closed "....

E mail, txt from the pro or on Facebook, so not to bad to be honest or if you miss that a big sign saying closed on the 1st and 10 th tee

I have suggested a webcam looking out of the proshop window...

That might backfire though, because if I saw how dreich it is I'd probably never play
