Course Closed..?

The course is 3 miles from my house so its a level of common sense really, my old club i was at as a junior was useless, would get me bats, get on the bus for around 25-30 mins, to be greeted by a 2ft by 2ft sign at the entrance to the bar " course closed "....

I have an image of Tiny Tim in Christmas Carol with his nose pressed against the window. Heartbreaking story OS ;)

Sounds a lovely chap, does he drop off emergency supplies to the oldies too ... 2 birds with 1 stone and all that

Don't be soppy OS he's got 650 members to get round before 7am. Anyway that would take away work from the local bank manager!

Just opened again, nice

[h=1]Mill Ride Status Update[/h]Dear Stephen,

The status of the Mill Ride course was changed at 12:20 pm on Friday 16th of December to the following:
Friday- The golf course is now open but we are on red status so it is carrying only. This means no trolleys and this is likely to continue over the weekend.

our course is closed today for some reason ,we aint got snow ,and there was no frost on my car when i set off for work at 4.30 am

Daily email sent if you subscribe to it, get it on my iphone around 8am. Course hotline if you want to phone in, website page too, but you have to log in (and not updated today.....), big "Course Closed" sign outside the front door if you make the journey without checking first......

my course has been closed on and off for the past 2 weeks,they have a daily inspection and post result on the web site and also send an e-mail to those on the list normally before 8-30 each morning.

E-mail, get a status update every morning

[h=1]Mill Ride Status Update[/h]Dear Stephen,

The status of the Mill Ride course was changed at 7:26 am on Friday 16th of December to the following:
Friday- The golf course is closed due to snow covering, we will keep you updated throughout the day.
same system as we have - email at 7.26am usually and more if there are any changes

The only real way is to either rock up and see or phone. I've been campaigning for a decent website that gets updated regularly or better still a dfacebook/twitter account where it could be posted at the touch of a button and sent to all the members signed up. Sadly that is far to close to coming into the 21st century for my lot

Email and home page of club's website status reported at 8.30 each morning . They sometimes try to inject some humour. Last Friday the status was " Course closed due to the damage caused by hurricane bawbag."
