Many of you may recall that I had a massive decision to make last year.
I had been a member of one of the best courses in the country for 25+ years but after relocating miles away after starting a family I was paying large fees and hardly getting there to play.
Dilemma was do I leave for a local course which is no where near as good but pay less and play more but would never be able to afford to go back.

my 1st club is
1.in the top 100 in Britain
2.has amazing facilitys
3.has a former euro tour winner as a pro
4.all year round golf condition wise
5.Holds Final Open Qualifying for Birkdale and Lytham
6.Has great history having held the Ryder Cup twice
and it goes on and on.
Like I said massive decision!!!!!!!!!!

Well I did decide to leave because I wanted to play more and although very wet, boggy and in poor condition in the winter it was great in the summer although lacking any practice facility's.
Overall I enjoyed playing in the week which was not possible if I had stayed and anyway my Father & Brother are still members so I can play there anytime I want.

Today I found out that in May the County Championship is at my former club. This news has given my focus renewed vigour
and I cant wait to go back and see a few old faces and friends.
Should be able to make the halfway cut and get a strong finish if I am playing well together with my local knowledge. :)
Last time it was there when I was a young fearless whipper snapper I missed the playoff by 2 shots.

I would highly recommend anyone to go and play my former club.
They have a great winter rate of £45 with a £5 catering voucher.

If you got a nice crisp clear winter day you would enjoy a firm golf course, with it being links and built on sand it naturally drains.
The condtion will be the best you can get at this time of year.
Its a championship golf course at a great price.

You don't, by any chance, have a business interest in this club? :D

Anyhow good luck with the county, always good to have a goal and you seem to want it. Let us know how you get on when it comes round.

Piss off!!!!!!!!
No I bloody do not!!!!!!

I have not even been there for 18 months!!!!!!

Take the advice of someone who knows,go and play it and then thank me for one of the best days you will have on a golf course.

After 30 years membership from the age of 8 S&A is very close to my heart.

Rant Over
