How is countback calculated with a 2 tee start?

2 golfers both score 36 points one starts on 1st and other starts on 10th what 9 is used for finding a winner?.

There is no official rule. It is upto the Committee to decide. The Conditions of Competition should specify the method of deciding ties.

Can't see how it can done any other way. The countback has to be performed on the same set of holes for both sets of players, and I can't see any reason for choosing the front nine, or any other permutation as it would only make more competition rules to be introduced.

Yep, the back 9 and thank goodness. It's how I won at Blackmoor in last years H4H day. Started and had a great outward 9 nine holes off the 10th (not an easy tee) but struggled a little on the front when coming in so my countback held up ;)

I always assumed the back nine was used because it was when the player was warmed up. Seems a tad unfair to use it when one player starts on 10, even if that player subsequently wins!
