Cough and cold remedies

Plenty of oranges in your diet will not prevent you from catching a cold. Recent studies suggest daily intake of vitamin C may reduce the duration of a cold, but even that is inconclusive and hasn't been replicated in most studies.

You cannot deny the 'placebo effect' of the 'old wives tales' many believe in...

Havent read it all but hot lemon with manuka honey is fantastic for lessening symptoms.

Prevention can be boosted by 1000mgs vit C a day boost.

Main way to limit the risk is use gloves in winter for any 'public' doors. Dont use someone elses phone or computer.

Most colds/flu are transmitted via door handles then you touch your mouth or eyes.

You don't need to go all Howard Hughes but toilet door handles, taps, toilet buttons etc are guaranteed to have at least 27 different urine strains on them and 'probably' a cold, flu or tummy virus

worse than that Chellie, see these bowls of nuts in bars or the ones your hostess passes round in the house..........multiple urine traces from multiple users. One tested bowl even had two, yes two, different cat urines in it:eek::eek:

When I'm at anyones house who has cats ("oh they never go on the work surfaces"..........Yeah Right!!) I take cooked or wrapped food and politely decline anything else as I'm not hungry, nothing thats been lying out in a bowl....

I'm a joy at peoples houses

lol, dont get me started on DIPS! people dribble on a bread stick then plunge their saliva globules back into the dip for the next unsuspecting soul- they might as well just spit into your mouth:eek:

/I think I need help :rolleyes::whistle::rofl:

This works for me.....

Boil up, 3/4 of a pint of a decent lemonade. Add to a VERY large whiskey. Drink whilst hot / warm. Repeat until you go to bed. Sweat like hell all night. Fine next day.

How avoid is a better way. Eat loads of onions and tinned tomatoes. Most recipies I do have these ingredients in. No cold so far. Wife and I have not had one for two years now. Despite 3 year old grandson catching everything and coming round trying to spread his bugs on to us.

+1 to this.

Echenasia at the first sign can help lessen the impact.

Isn't a bit harsh to suggest sending someone to Dignatas, I mean it's only a cold :D

As for cure/remedy, tough it out I'm afraid, for prevention an icy cold shower in the morning, only had 1 cold that knocked me for 6 in the last 4yrs.

 and cloves round the neck to ward of werewolves/vampires

Vitamin C does not have any meaningful, and probably absolutely no, effect on the common cold, whether in supplement or natural form.

Nor does echinacea. Euthanasia won't help the cold as such, but to be fair you will stop caring about it. It only works once, though.

Cloves of garlic no good for Werewolves, great for vampires though. For Werewolves I find throwing a large stick in one direction, shouting fetch and then running in the other gets pretty good results.

Garlic doesn't keep my blood sucking... oops, she's just come into the room...
