Mess around with the attacking options all you want - but at the end of the day its goals conceded that are killing us.

Not compliment suarez for his awareness, anticipation, or Cahills poor defending at that point.

Why must we have a scapegoat? as a team we have been poor, the overall "blame" if you must falls with the gaffer for selection and tactics.

So you think its acceptable for a National Team to concede a goal from a goal kick? Gerrard was too slow and too incompetent to deal with a long ball - it looked like a Gerrard assist rather than an attempt at defending but it wasn't just that he's been woeful full stop

What about the back 4 behind him and then the GK ?

Surely it's a cb's role to deal with the long balls ? There was three players behind Gerrard when he went up for the header but misjudged it

It was Gerrard's job to protect the cbs!

So does that excuse the CB's of any blame then ?

Does it mean that we can just get rid of CB's if we have a holding player in front because he is going to stop everything ?

Gerrard lost the ball that led to the first goal, he was unlucky for the 2nd, but when you see the likes of Holland, Uraguay, france, argentina all play and their big names make a big impression, where were englands established stars? Gerrard has been poor in both games, wild shots, poor crosses and corners and wasteful in possesion.
