I actually dragged my self down to the course on Sunday morning, ONLY because I'd had an invite from him, Mr Vice, to join him and Mr Captain. OK. Freezing!!!! 8am start! WTH?? Captains Sunday Ball? £1. Raffle? £1. £1 Front back and over all? £3. Brilliant
But...afterwards Mr Captain was to show Mr Vice how to run his Winter Ball. It's half your handicap, because we only play 9. Well how do you apply that then????? Well MR C explained it to us both and we looked at each other puzzled and both said, why not just apply full H/C to the front nine? Well as players came in, who play regularly in this bonkers Winter roll up all knew the score and how to do it and explained it, over and over. Both us newbies stuck to our guns, saying as long as the stroke index was correct and split between front 9 and back 9 it would work out the same, which after a think, they all agreed. Bonkers. Who told you how to do this Mr C? Last years Captain? Good grief, no wonder. Historical nonsense. After checking a few cards, there were loads of mistakes using this system. And lord in heaven how many handicaps were in use?????? The Saturday roll up one, Mr Captains Winter Ball (Sunday) one, Deccas Weekend one.
