competition handicap limit

my home (local) is about 300 for the year, its 10min walk from my house i know they have a club that is seperate from the course itself so i will ring tomorrow to find out the details and prices for the club that plays out of my local, which i do like for a muni its fantasticly well kept

Heaton Park golf club(Manchester) is a muni, and a dam fine and hard course. It has a club which is only £50 a year to join. Can't be bad.

Richie which club is your local ? Maybe I could help you if arrowe park is only 10 minutes away how far is Hoylake muni? They have a club on a Saturday you can join for about £50 a year in fact they even have just a summer membership which could even be cheaper, you could join there play 3 rounds with a member and then you would have an official handicap to enter opens. Hoylake is quite friendly but can be a long round at times upto 5 hours on a Saturday depending on tee time. Anyway I won't go on anymore just trying to help but if you have a look at it and want to play with a member let me know and I'll sort something out with you, Gary

Not a bad little muni I'm sure you should be able to get a decent deal on ther just ask do they do a summer membership ad well that could be your cheapest route.

i love it, just hope the club the shop told me about, when i asked the course what membership was in was 300 something, will update tomorrow with whats said

I ink that sounds a bit expensive and if your prepared to have a little drive up in north Wales you can get some great deals with full membership deals at the moment I wish I lived closer. Good luck tomorrow and don't forget to keep us informed

Join a local a Club attached to a Municipal Course, best way to go at least to start with, where you`ll find others exactly like yourself, don`t forget almost £10 of your fees go straight to the EGU/Area Union.

Anyone looking for similar in the Cheshire/Staffs area can find one for £60.00 membership.

Hi Richie, are the prices you listed for arrow park? I was thinking of joining there too, but i may be wrong but i dont think the do student prices for me where as some other clubs do so i'm unsure

the arrowe park membership is 125quid, going to pop to the ellesmere port course tomorrow as thats when im told members will be there and speak with them about a winter season fee, see what they say seeing as i have missed all but about 2 comps this summer,

also been told carden park is 150quid, play when you like you just cant enter the sat/sun comps and you dont get an offcial handicap, but for 250 you can play when ever and enter sat/sun comps and you get your handicap

and tbh i really really like the look of the carden park courses and may do some serious creeping to the wife will wait until i have spoken with them before i approach the missus lol
