I purchased one of these back in February. I really like it, very cool looking in black and yellow. However, after using it quite a bit over the past couple of months, I find that the 14 way divider is very restrictive when it comes to taking clubs out of the bag. So much so, that the padded lining around the dividers is all coming off as the club grips always seem to "stick" to it and drag it up through the divider when taking them out.

It's still under warranty, I've spoken to Cobra and the supplier, have to return it via the supplier - OK can live with that, but just registering my disappointment with the kit given the fact that it's not cheap, and I would expect it to last longer than 4 months :(

Thanks for the review as I was thinking of buying one. I have had the go ahead to look for cart bags from HID as she thinks my Ogio Grom won't sit properly on the GoKart without it going sideways (not sure if anyone uses this system and can comment on it).

I was looking at the Sun Mountain C-130 or sun mountain H2N0 and tempted by the Ogio Atlas but with them was the Cobra bag, glad I didn’t order it now.

Anyone got any experience on Sun Mountain cart bags?

If you look at the top of your Grom (leg side), it has an anti-twist cart strap. Just hook the around the bag support on your trolly. I use mine on a powakaddy quite often in winter.

I don't have a problem with it twisting on a powwakaddy, but they also have a grip system on their top support. When you do the strap up, it grips the bag.

NMW...

I'd support your comments but also for the Mizuno Speedster cart bag.

I bought one and it strikes me as having been designed by someone who's never played golf. Everything is in the wrong place and if your towel is longer than about 10 inches it drags on the ground when the bag is on the cart. Vey poor!

I would guess it is very similar to the Titleist RC08 which I have, as they are both Acushnet.

Towel mount is too low, dividers too tight, no grab handle, no easily accessible external umbrella mount, so if you put it back in the hole designed for it, your clubs get wet.

I think Acushnet had their golf bags designed by an idiot, who has never played in his life.

It is also as water proof as a tea bag, so investment in a cover for teh whole bag is a good option.

It does have some good points though, so I will keep mine for now.

Afraid my Nike Pro Combo bag is no better. The zip on the hood fell apart in weeks - I had a tailor fit a new zip for me. :D
The side pockets aren't big enough to easily get waterproofs and some grub into. :D
The worst aspect is the position of the umbrella holder - when you sit the bag square on the trolley it means the brolley is pinned, so you have to turn the bag round which unbalances the load and makes my Go Kart want to go off line. :D
The umbrella holder comprises a loop at the bottom which isn't wide enough to get the pointy end of the umbrella through so it falls out and the top end is a string loop with a draw fitting which once the umbrella is wet you can't get out of the loop without a full on course wrestling and swearing session. :o :D

Wish I hadn't sold my Sun Mountain but it had a crappy rain hood fastening system that couldn't keep the water out. :D

Grrrrr

are there any good cart or carry bags out there that people would recommend?

I have a Nike Sasquatch which has enough room, but has a rubbish umbrella holder, absorbs water like a sponge, and has the same problem as the OP in pulling clubs out and catching the dividers.

Anyone got any experience of the Sun Mountain C103 or Ogio cart bags? I was on the verge of buying a Izzo transporter but it twists and I don't want to be fiddling with keeping the bugger straight or does twisting happen on most cart bags?

I've got a Wilson Cart bag, suffers some of the problems listed; side pockets too skimpy, poor zips, trim catching and pulling loose, shower not waterproof.
It also has a stupid 'putter well' that's badly positioned and too short.
It does have two umbrella positions though, one front, one back. The socket hole is big enough but the same wrestling match.

I've got the TM TMX2

I put it on its side (umbrella holder side up) and can easily get to all the pockets and it seems to balance the weight ok and my go-kart steers a straight enough path if I let it roam unaided. I have tried it laying it flat but it does make the rear pockets difficult to access and therefore defeats the benefit of having them. I don't have an issue laying it on its side with even a large towl getting in the way of the wheels.

Its a decent enough bag. I hate 14 divider bags with a passion anyway so would never have got one but this has enough room to get clubs in and out and carry waterproofs drinks, snacks, spare gloves and towels without any problem or compromising the go-karts performance

The clothing pockets are not as large as they could be, but it does have grab handles (top and bottom). I agree on the "waterproofability" after playing two hole in heavy rain last week, everything inside the bag was soaked.

Having said all that, I still like the bag, and will continue to use it once they have replaced/ repaired it.

I also have a Cobra stand bag that I use when carrying. This doesn't have 14 way dividers, so much easier to get clubs in and out. The padding around the dividers is also better finished. I would assume that the bags are made in the same factory, but I bought the stand bag in the US whilst on holiday as they didn't sell it in the UK, seems a better quality bag.

The Srixon bag I've just bought seems good so far, but hasn't had much use. There is a waterproof pocket, which leads me to believe the rest of the bag won't be, but at least theres somewhere to keep the beer vouchers dry. 2 really big side pockets, 3 grab handles and a loop for connecting to the trolley. Insulated drinks pocket but weather hasn't been warm enough to tell if this works yet.

It has 14 way dividers which personally I like, less clattering and easier to keep things organised.

Having always carried and therefore had virtually no waterproofing (why do 99% of carry bags leak like a used teabag) I got in the habit of putting my spare gloves and spare towels in a freezer bag and carrier bag respectively to give them some chance of staying dry. It seemed to work OK and its something I'll carry on doing with the trolley bag just in case.

Personally I leave valuables like my mobile (providing someone in the group has one) and my wallet in my locker so I don't need to worry too much about them getting wet. I put my swipe card (needed for access and buying beers) in with my gloves so it stays nicer and dry. I'm not too fussed if the drink bottles get a bit damp.
