175yds from the flag, into a slight breeze, I pull out a 5 iron but it doesn't feel right. A rethink and a decision to hit the 6. After changing clubs I address the ball, and in glancing at the club head I think it's a bit small and upright... no you fool, its just that you're not used to the new bats yet.

Absolutely nailed it, and with a nice high flight too. Mmm, that's carrying a bit long. One bounce on the back edge and off into the elephant grass. You clumsy muppet!! You pulled out the 4 instead of the 6!

Doh!

:D At least its not just me that does that then, the amount of times I have pulled the 6 instead of the 9! Thankfully I have only actually hit the wrong club a couple of times though.

Only time I've ever pulled the wrong club was on the tee on a 410yd par 4. Pulled 7 iron instead of a 4. (in the slot below in the bag).

Pulled a 5i yesterday, but on set up felt a bit close to it. Instead of moving back a bit, I decided to just shut my eyes, and hit it anyway. Bad decision. Massive shank. No idea why I closed my eyes. Just seemed like a good idea. Hmmm.
