Morning all, I was wondring what I need to take to a club fitting as never had one? I thouht just my glove? This is gonna be the longest 4 days ever. Had to wait a couple of weeks to get the time off work and to fit in aound them can't wait. :D

Just a glove and a fairly repeatable swing! I was in the process of getting fit for new irons, went for my fitting and couldn't hit a thing! (bearing in mind I was looking at getting some players cavities or even blades!), embarrassing. But returned the following day and was back on track, hit a good 500 balls with almost every club, and then different shafts etc and came away with new irons.

didn't know I would need to take my old clubs gonna be a pain doing that oh well needs must. Oh so it takes some time to go thru it all. I thought it would be done in an hour lol

You haven't said what you are getting fitted. If its irons, you need to take at least a 6 iron. If its woods, then take them. The fitter needs to see where you are at just now, to see where you need to go. And be prepared to hit a lot of balls, oh and enjoy.

The whole lot is getting replaced. The only thing i'm keeping is the bag but probs change that aswell. Didn't really wanna take my current clubs as old, useless and embarrassing :( Looks like I will have to.

Driver plus 6/7 iron will do. But guess if they are that old you maybe better off not taking any. But one thing enjoy the day and have an open mind. Good luck, will really have to do it myself one day(when I have the spare cash).

Where are you having it done, as you are not a million miles away.

Dont forget to report back?

DaveM - I'm going up to wilsons factory in Irvine Scotland to be fitted by Andy been told hes top class. Going on the train thats why I didn't really want to take my clubs with me plus they have had it and that. As soon as i've got the internet I will report back.

The 'problem' that not taking current club(s) is that you have no way to compare the results you are being shown, probably on a Launch Monitor, with any 'calibrated' standard.

It's quite possible to frig LMs to give results according to what may be in the supplier's interest.

However, I would not expect this to happen in this case. Wilson have a suitably wide range and much more to lose than gain by frigging results.

Enjoy the experience.
