Club Clean Service

A forum member told me about your post Fish. Just wanted to clarify and help with some factual input.

I would have no doubt that the machine works at all. I just don't see people paying £5 for it that's all, and as has been confirmed by a good number of members they have seen them at places for as little as £3 a go and they still don't get used.

For a charity, corporate or even captains day and it was free(already paid by organisers) then I'm sure most would use it. But for the price of a machine and then all other associated start up costs it would not be a feasible business IMHO. At least in Northern Ireland I couldn't see people hiring for the day anytime.

As has been said when your first post is to literally advertise and then you start posting in threads from 2010 it sends alarm bells ringing. But anyways welcome to GM

We have recently had a club cleaning company at one of our final amateur tour events and it really is worth the spend! My clubs were like new after they had done their stuff, the main thing is the grips came up so good and had that nice 'tacky' bit to them!

I am in no way associated with a club clean company by the way before anyone starts!!

Saw a chap at Woodall Spa offering the club clean, didn't bother when we got there and he had gome home when we finished, One of the goup had their clubs done whilst having breakfast and was very happy with the result.

Can't see it working as a franchise model or a business to invest in.

Not sure what exactly the money would be spent on apart from a few brushes and a bottle of fairy liquid.

Unless you thinking of advertising in golf monthly or something

I guess just start small and see how it goes?

we have one who comes to the club and charges £3-50 a set,he only comes for opens and the big comps capts day etc, this is his own franchise and it is a part time job and he doesnt work every week so in his words it is nothing more than a hobby,as for the results of the cleaning it is very good and the extra grips clean n re tack is worth the 50p

Saw a machine for £500 on eBay. If you started your own business that would be better than the £15000 to buy into the franchise. Add in a high top transit and some livery and you could be up and running for a fraction of the cost. Get a bit of corporate work and it may be enough for a little pocket money. But most likely you'd get the most business on days you'd rather be getting your own clubs dirty rather than clean someone else's.

We had one of these club cleaning franchises at our Captain's Day last year. He'd gone before I got round. Not exactly well thought out as the players kind of needed the clubs with them and there wasn't time to do it between groups. If it had been promoted properly he could have had bookings in the morning before the event. I'll stick to HID doing them

There is absolutely no point in having a Club Clean service at any event if it isnt promoted and if they dont wait for all players to come in after their round. Not many people tend to have a clean before their round and most prefer a clean after. It has to be organised depending on numbers!

Not necessary for my benefit, I am fully aware of Ultrasonic Golf Club Cleaning and its benefits. There is not a more time efficient and effective way of cleaning Golf Club heads and grips!
