Club Champ Qualifier Rd 1

yesterday was the first round of our chamionship qualifiers at Bellshill. I played quite well on tuesday before, so I was quite confident about posting a decent enough score. The start wasnt great as I was rushing about like a maddy becaise work ran on and it was blowing a hoolie!!!

Anyway, I was eleven over after 4!!! Dont ask me how becuase I may cry, and managed to scrape an 82 to be in the top 30 with ties after round one!!!

My round consisted of a quadruple at the first, double at the second double at the third and triple at the fourth! I only lost two balls in the process!!

I played from 5 to 11 in two under par!! Then had another double at the 12th, followed by a chip in for birdie! I had a silly 16th when I was on a great run.

All in all I was quite pleased with how I held it together, but if only I would take my medicine rather than get the Seve head on!!

What astounds me is how we can have such a bad start and yet finish like a pro to end up with an average score. Why cant we just forget about playing badly and shoot the lights out instead!
I had one of those days yesterday too, had three birdies and still ended up with a net 74 (+3)
I guess you just have to take the bad on the chin and try to start the second round straight out of the blocks and not let one bad shot ruin a hole.

Does that get you into the 2nd round or does it not work like that. It was a good recovery especially after such a horror start when it would have been easy to lose your head. Take the positives away (your good run - the chip in etc) and put the start down to rushing

Its two rounds and top 32 plus ties qualify for 2 rounds on finals day!

It wasnt rushing, I hit a decent drive on the first, it just bounded on, and i then thought i was seve and nailed it out the park! the second i hiot a shocker and thought i was seve again! third was just one silly shot and on 4 i was angry aat myself and took it out with the driver and nailed it ob!!


if i just thought my way around in the bad holes liek i did in the good i would have been fine!

there were ebtter players than me shot worse scores yesterday!
