just wondering if anybody has these clubs? and if so what do they reckon to them? i..e forgiving, extra distance etc....

thanks everyone

I was fitted for my clubs and at one point it was between the clevelands and the Wilson ci11's. If I hadn't had come across my Nike bargains then I would have went for the chrome clevelands as they felt so good when striking the ball and give good dispersion and distance.the only thing to put me off the wilsons was the black finish but they were every bit as good

Hi Preston, i got them around Xmas last year and still think they are great.

The distance and flight is superb (they do have pretty strong lofts which i guess adds to the distance - same with the Wilson Staffs) so you will likely need a gap wedge.

In terms of forgiveness, any off centre hit will produce decent results but if you hit the sweetspot the ball just soars away into the distance and its like hitting cotton wool.

Not sure what level of player you are but expect like all cavity backed clubs some guys maybe wont like the look of longer irons. Personally i am more interested in the result than the look at this moment in time.

Suggest you nip down to test them against others in that bracket and see how they feel to you.
good luck

thanks for that power fade well looks are not that important just the results really and hopefully straight into the hole lol at the moment im a 23 been playing properly since april, cant get enough of it :)

getting down to 23 since April is amazing - did you play when you were younger?.

I started playing end last year and although i dont have an official handicap, i am shooting high 80s low 90s level, i have worked my nuts off to get this far and found it tough as i hadnt played golf at all until last year.

i used to play about 7 years ago but only for 6 months been playing quite a bit recently so i think thats helped so what do u reckon you would be playing off if you had your official h/c ?

Buy buy buy buy buy buy buy them!

Absolutely fantastic clubs. I'm a 27 but thats about to come down to around 23 since I got my irons.

The wedges are fantastic too

Great set of irons, had mine about 8 months now in 'black pearl', the black does wear quite a bit on the sole but the clubs still look great. Playability wise i think they sit well with a traditional look which i like, ball flight is highish, off centre hits still travel well, distance wise they are up there with the rest. I'm currently playing off 7 and don't feel the need to change irons so i think they'll do you fine. Buy them you won't regret it.

I've got a set of the CG16 in satin. Went to a Cleveland club demo day and noticed that the black pearl looked a bit worn after they'd been used for a while. I play off 16 and tried the tour version as well, but thought the standard version gave me more forgiveness so went for these. Personally for your level I would go for the non tour version.
I don't think I've got a fast swing speed, probably average but the fitter recommended I went for stiff steel as opposed to regular. Before you buy get checked out on a launch monitor. I love the clubs and am really pleased with them.

The CG16's are a lovely set of clubs, I was fitted for mine and at the time it ws a toss up between the CG16 and the Taylormade R11, both were identical when I tried them, the CG's won as to get the R11 I was going to have to get a non stock shaft fitted to the R11 which made them more expensive.

As you'll see in my signature I opted for 5 to SW and then subsequently purchased a 50 degree GW and 62 degree LW.

The set is excellent and will serve me well for a long time yet.

They give a good ball flight, they are very forgiving with shots off the toe or heel and the wedges are billiant offering the capability of loads of spin to get the ball to check up on the green.
