how often do you clean your clubs?

Also once you have cleaned them does it make you feel better the next time you go out and play?

Reason i ask is every time i seem to clean my clubs i dont play as well as i would if i left them dirty. Obviously they are not cacked up with mud ect, they just aren't shiny!!

I clean mine about 2-3 times a week if I am playing frequently. Sometimes I do not clean them if I am playing just 9 after work but I always ensure they are clean in preparation for 18 on both weekend days or before anything competitive during the week.

I also like to clean them in the living room just after the wife has cleaned the floor there :D

usually I dont even take em out of the boot between rounds so havent been cleaned for around 3 rounds, I do clean the grooves before and after shots though and will clean/dry them all if I have played in the wet

I clean mine before any comp or society outing then leave them out of the covers for an hour or two to allow any missed water to evaporate. Nightmare trying to fully dry the cavity in mine. If playing a practice round and planning another in a day or two I'll leave them. Also give any used at the range a dip in warm water when I get home to remove the melted green plastic coating from them.

My clubheads will be cleaned after every shot. The grips will be done when I feel they've been subjected to my sweaty hands enough. Sometimes just after a good session with the wedges down the practise park or it could be a couple of months.

I've been playing golf for over 30 years and I've cleaned my clubs probably a dozen times.

Oh yeah and I never clean my shoes.

Better things to do with my time.

When I die my clubs and shoes can be cleaned and polished for my funeral.

Think I may have cleaned mine mid May at some point. Seem to remember I was bored one night and thought it would be a good idea!

A good bit of spit and good rub with a towel before a shot does the trick for me.

A quick rub under me armpit and spit on it before an important shot, if there's real mud on them then I stand on the face to get of the lumps and force the mud into the grooves- ball flies further then

The Great Bobby Jones is reported to have never cleaned his clubs, and he also reckoned he only played about 6 really good shots in any given round..everything else was a recovery. I GUESS HE NOW HOW TO HIT A GOLF BALL...
