Is it a mullet? its the same length all round just brushed back on the sides a little more?
Back then his swing was quit ea bit different.

Happy birthday Brendy.

It is longer enough at the back for a mullet, it's no Chris Waddle though. :)

Agree his swing seems much more loose, upright and fast back then. Couldn't tell if that was a steel or graphite shaft when he really wellies one around 1:40, what do you think?

Looks like an old skool original steel big bertha. It was brought out in '91 so could well have been the latest tech back then, head certainly is bigger than persimmon woods.

I know that he loved Callaway back then as I owned one of his later Cally great Big Bertha drivers, bought from Peter Hanna (playing and teaching pro Fortwilliam at the time) in Belfast. It was a rocket of a driver with a poker stiff shaft and red band on the shaft to indicate custom made, pity I just couldnt hit it hard enough to get the ful potential out of it and went back to a biggest big bertha stiff, that was a great club for its time too.

I was at that final, all those years back. I couldn't beleive how far those two guys hit the ball then. Made Portrush's 9th and 10th holes look like par 4's.........
