City vs United

I can't stand Man United. If you are not from Salford and you support them then in my view, it is the footballing equivalent of saying that McDonalds is your favourite restaurant or Coke is your favourite drink. Supporting a team that you have no geographical or family connection with, basically because they are the biggest. I cannot understand this on any level.

In addition, I was at Manchester University and City were my team through those years. I had a season ticket on the Kippax and it was about £60 for the student rate. Fantastic! Met some great people and had a lot of laughs.

It is just brilliant to see City doing well now and I have no issue with the lottery win that they have had. All teams have bought the Premier League. All the big boys break transfer records routinely and City are no different. The complainers are primarily driven by jealousy.

As for yesterday. Just beautiful! A special day for City fans that will go down in history. Just marvellous to see Ferguson and Rooney tearing up their comics after being given a football lesson.

David Sliva is some player! best in the premiership I think.

cant complain about the decisions I think the ref got them right.

As for the whole if your not from Salford you shouldnt support them is utter tosh. You can support who ever you want to whether you have a connection or not. Its football at the end of the day not a civil war. People have numerous reasons for supporting teams whether it be like you who went to uni there or because they like a certain player to family connections.

To add about the jealousy thing because city are now starting to be a top team isnt that why many people hate man utd because of the jealousy thing? Any club who is successful will start to be hated in that country Liverpool had it then man utd then chelsea and now its going to happen to city.

I think some of the hatred towards the top teams stems form how they become the top teams rather than just because they are the best on a given season. With Man U, it was more to do with Alex Ferguson whining about referees, time keeping and whatever else went wrong on the day. I think a team that wins fairly and well will get more respect than a team soured by gurning.

Yeah I can understand how people dont like fergie but managers only do that to protect there teams and clubs and try to deflect attention from maybe the performance, Mourinho was king at doing that. Most top managers have something about them, fergie time, wenger i didnt see it, mourinho look at me not my players.
