What went wrong in your house?
forgot to turn the oven on?
Forgot to get potatoes?
ran out of wine?
forgot to defrost the turkey?

come on, own up

Made the same 'mistake' twice...

1975 Grandad and I 'popped out' for a festive drink on Christmas day... We never made it back for the Queens speech let alone dinner...

25 years later father in law and I 'popped out' .... You can guess the rest :o...

Hopefully I am up to making the same 'mistake' in 2025...

not a disaster, but 2 years ago we put the turkey in the oven, went out to a friends. came home to a huge puddle of turkey juices over the kitchen where the tray had overflowed.. smelt funny in the kitchen for weeks after!

Had a norovirus type bug a few years before that, that wasn't a pleasant experience...

This year is pretty much a disaster in our house as I have managed to wreck my back and I have no idea how it happened.
I have been hobbling round pukling faces since Friday and havent been able to get out to finish shopping for the wifes xmas pressies.
Luckily our three girls are sorted though.

My back is the same, about 3 or 4 times a year, no warning, no idea what causes it. End up hobbling around like Quasimodo for 3 or 4 days then it disappears.

Online shopping is definitely the way to go!

Got one if those double oven cookers and 2 years ago we made some extra roast tattles......can never have too many..........well we never needed them as we had enough with the normal batch......last year we found the extra tattles in the second oven as we never use it apart from at Xmas.........they weren't very appetising!!

We did the same with pigs in blankets last year. Yuk.

A few years back on boxing day the wife chucked the xmas tree at me after I'd been for a wee lunchtime session at the pub with some mates and overindulged slightly!
