China - the next Superpower?

Has anyone been out to China? It sounds like it's going nuts. I keep reading about the 180 holes at Mission Hills and how the country is going to be the next super power but then I read somewhere that there's only 2 courses open to the public. Seems like they've gone from communism to uber-capitalism. Just wondered is anyone has been out there and what it was really like.

Not been but from the coverage of the Chinese courses on the "European" Tour they don't seem to be doing much to tempt anyone to go either. Very boring looking ...but I'm sure there must be some goodies judging by the amount of new courses they're building.

And of course they're now claiming to have invented the game too. Wonder why they kept that one quiet for 500 years?
