Cheltenham 2025

My money is on the locals up in arms because loads of drunk race fans are peeing in their gardens. Local news down here is always reporting on it. Some people have got security on their property to try and stop it. Racing may be good, but town and infrastructure cannot handle it.

And racegoers will be moaning about the price of Guinness but still pay for it anyway :ROFLMAO:

Not going this year, usually do Gold Cup day. @Neilds, I always make sure I'm driving so I don't have to pay the eye watering prices. 🤣

Stu always used to create this thread, hope he's well wherever he is.

Prob see a few favourites today

Lot of backing for Lossiemouth now it’s in the Mares - Joyeuse worth it for an EW in the same race

Constitution Hill should cruise to a win

Kyntara in 17:20 worth an EW

Kopes will walk the first

Stopped going a few years ago. Too crowded. Too many drunks. When I worked in Gloucester, we used to take clients, now they go to Kingsholm instead.

Watching on the TV. No good tips yet!😁
We are members at Cheltenham but our membership now specifically excludes the Festival for the reasons you mention.

Too many people there whose sole aim seems to be to drink or snort as much as possible and who have no interest in the racing.

Unfortunately the Jockey Club seem to encourage this aided and abetted by idiots like the Breakfast Show host on Talksport.

The town can handle it and welcome the influx of business (the pubs and restaurants for sure) - but it's ruined every year by coked up weapons dressed like they're auditioning for Peaky Blinders, with no socks, a stupid hat and trousers that are too short, whilst pretending to be Irish, pissing all over the high street because they can't handle their Guinness.

I just avoid Cheltenham like the plague this week. Glad I can't afford to live in the town itselff haha.

Horse Racing is in my blood; my great, great, grandfather won the Melbourne Cup 3 times, my Grandmother was one of the most beloved Racehorse trainers in the UK for many, many years and my uncles all own (or part own) horses....but Gold Cup week completely ruins it for me. Just attracts the absolute worst kind of punter.

Cheltenham used to be the one festival where it was all about the racing

Aintree was the big drinking

Royal Ascot the hats and champagne idiots

It would be a shame for Cheltenham to become a mess as the racing there is better than anywhere else on the calender

Constitution hill boosted to 6/4 with 365.
Used free bets on Changing man in the 14:40
Beyond dreams in the 16:40

We aren't going, but off down to Somerset to stay with friends on Thursday and going to Taunton Recourse on Friday as they hold a Gold Cup lunch and show it on big screen TV's with the Tote in the room. Never been to Cheltenham on Gold Cup Day but imagine it would be horrendously busy. Sitting eating and drinking and watching it on TV has far more appeal!

Bad day! A few great finishes though.

Heading off there Friday, always a brilliant day/night. I think the way it's grown is good, similar to the darts. Yes there's a few muppets but you get those in every pub in the country.
